Tip
This fills 24 small vol au vent cases or 12 medium.
The vol au vents are perfect as a savoury finger food.
Can also serve with rice and salad or vegetables.
The mixture freezes well.
This recipe was given to me about 10 years ago which I've always done in a pot. So much easier in the TM where no standing by the stove and stirring the sauce until it thickens is required!

This was a great recipe! Might tone down the curry flavour next time. The mixture filled exaclty 8 Woolworths brand vol-au-vent cases. I served this as a main dish with chicken flavoured rice and a salad. It was a hit!
Thanks for a great recipe. I
Thanks for a great recipe. I make this reguarly. i wizz carrot and zuchini before i start the sauce, leave in the bowl and then continue as normal. It makes more than i need so i freeze the left over mix and grab it out on busy nights to make a quick dinner. Tasty and loved by our kids.

Amazing taste, definately on
Amazing taste, definately on our recipe rotation. I added one finely sliced spring onion, a couple of roughly chopped baby spinach leaves and some mushrooms, cut into small pieces in the chicken addition stage. In last 5 minutes of oven cooking time I sprinkled some grated tasty cheese on top of each.... Soo good

I've made this a few times but only remembered to leave a comment now. It's a family favourite and I wrap the leftover chicken mixture inside pizza dough to make pizza bread the next day. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

Great finger food for our NYE party! Mixture made 18 medium vol au vents. Recieved loads of compliments from our guests. Only change was I used lactose free milk & cream.

Very quick and easy dish. I used Carnation Light Cooking Cream and added around 200g of sliced mushrooms and it turned out very nice, although the mushrooms pulverised - will have to put them in later next time and turn the speed down. Next time I'll add a few more spices to give it a bit more pep.

Alot actually! but obviously depends on the size you are referring to. To be honest I haven't counted the tiny ones but heaps for entertaining. If I'm using the largest size for dinner for the family to go with a salad I'd get at least 8. I will have to make it again so I can answer more exactly!
