Buttermilk chocolate Brownies (Aunty Gill's)

Ingredients

16 portion(s)

brownie mix

  • 125 g Butter, cubed
  • 100g oil, own choice
  • 250g water
  • 50g cacoa power
  • 300g plain flour
  • 250g raw sugar
  • 5g bicarb soda
  • 130g buttermilk
  • 2 eggs

icing

  • 200g raw sugar
  • 75g Butter, cubed
  • 10g cacoa powder
  • 45g buttermilk
  • 5g vanilla essence

Recipe's preparation

    Brownie mix
  1. 1. Place butter, oil, water and cocoa into tmx bowl and mix 2mins 100 degrees speed 1

    2. Add flour, sugar and bicarb to the bowl. Mix 15 sec speed 3

    3. Add buttermilk and eggs. Mix 15 secs speed 4 (don't over mix)

     

    Pour into large, greased pyrex dish and bake at 180 degrees for 25mins

    Allow to cool until just warm, before pouring icing over the brownies

  2. Icing
  3. 1. Place sugar into tmx bowl. Mill 10 sec speed 10

    2. Add butter, buttermilk, vanilla extract and cocao. Mix 10 sec speed 4. scrape down sides and mix for a further 10 secs speed 4

     

    Pour icing over brownies whilst still warm

    Serve portions warm or cold with icecream, cream or custard

    O. M. G. This is so yummy!!!! I made the mistake of not letting the brownie cool enough before adding the icing.  What a mess. . .  A yummy yummy mess!! I ended up slicing as per normal and just kept spooning the runny icing onto the top!  It is now such a moist yummy brownie just like you get at a restaurant!!  This will become my go to special dessert!!!!

    This is a great recipe, nice & moist. Only thing I did differently was to make a basic cocoa, icing sugar & butter icing because I had no butter milk left. tmrc_emoticons.)

    These were nice, im not a huge fan of brownies but i add some buttermilk and i thought i owuld try something different. I liked combination of the soft cake and the icing together.
