Choc-Chip Teacake

Ingredients

Teacake

  • 65 g Butter softened
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 140 g Self Raising Flour
  • 80 g Milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 140 g dark chocolate chips

Topping

  • 1 teaspoon Drinking chocolate powder
  • 10 g Butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons caster sugar

Recipe's preparation

    Teacake
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 4.5cm deep, 20cm round cake pan. Line base and side with baking paper.

  2. Place butter and sugar in bowl and mix on speed 4 for 10 seconds.

  3. Add egg and vanilla and mix on speed 4 for 10 seconds.

  4. Add flour and milk and mix on speed 5 for 10 seconds.

  5. Add choc chips and cocoa and mix Counter-clockwise operation speed 5 for 8 seconds.

  6. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.  Level top.

  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Stand in pan for 5 minutes. Turn, top-side up, onto a wire rack.

  8. Topping
  9. Combine drinking chocolate and sugar in a bowl. Brush hot cake with butter. Sprinkle with chocolate mixture. Cool. Serve with cream.
