Cake Ingredients

  • 55 g almonds
  • 70 g Butter
  • 250 g Milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
  • 170 g plain flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 35 g cocoa powder
  • 100 g brown sugar

Sauce Ingredients

  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 20 g cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon Strong Instant Coffee
  • 500 g water

Recipe's preparation

    Make Cake Batter
  1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees celsius.

    You will require a 2 litre capacity baking dish / bowl.

    Place Almonds Into TM Bowl and mill.  Turbo for one second at a time, several times until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.  (This is Almond Meal). Set aside.

    Place butter in TM Bowl and melt. 2-3 mins / 50 degrees / speed 1.

    Once butter is melted, add milk, eggs, Vanilla Bean Paste to the TM Bowl and mix. 10 sec / speed 3.

    Add remaining cake ingredients, including reserved Almond Meal to Bowl and continue to mix. 20 sec / speed 3.

    Pour cake mixture into 2 litre capacity baking dish / bowl. Do Not Grease Baking Dish.

    Rinse TM Bowl and make sauce. - Do not place cake into oven yet.

  2. Make the Sauce
  3. Add all sauce ingredients to TM Bowl.

    Mix for 15 seconds speed 4.

    Mix for 2 mins / 60 degrees / speed 3

    Mix for 4 mins / 100 degrees / speed 2

    Tip Sauce over cake batter.  Use the spatula held on it's side. Tip the sauce directly onto the spatula.  Thus allowing the sauce to pour evenly over the cake batter without causing a well.

    Place baking dish into oven and bake for 20-25 mins until cake springs back when gently pushed.

Tip

You can sub out the coffee for chocolate if you want. The coffee enhances the richness of the chocolate flavour.
