The family loves this muesli bar slice and I make it weekly for lunch boxes. I halve the sugar and add a bit more honey. Also sometimes use toasted muesli that has berries through it which gives a different flavour and more crunchy texture. You can really add or substitute anything you want in this recipe.

  • I accidentally left the sugar

    Submitted by simonaduke on 25. March 2016 - 22:09.

I accidentally left the sugar out - which meant they didn't stick as well as they should have but they tasted delish.  Tried again with the sugar and actually found them too sweet.  Substituted butter for coconut oil and worked just as well.  Great recipe

    Submitted by Rhondajc on 1. March 2015 - 21:37.

Just made my first batch - using Molasses instead of honey for my fructose issues.  Just wondering if the misture can be forzen?  Or does it actually last longer than a week in the fridge?  It is only me who will eat it!

  • I love this as a great muesli

    Submitted by Nic31 on 18. February 2015 - 13:54.

I love this as a great muesli bar base and I have done a few variations such as instead of adding the listed seeds I put the same weight amount of apricots or have also done the same with choc chips. yum!

  • Thankyou so much TRTLMT,

    Submitted by Suz76 on 3. February 2015 - 12:08.

Thankyou so much TRTLMT, you've managed to convince a muesli bar hating 5 year old that 'your bars are delicious mummy!' Kept really well for a week in the fridge in a sealed container. Have to make another batch now for her and her sisters school lunches. (Did reduce rapadura and honey content by 20g each but still sweet enough, will reduce even further next batch).

So good. I doubled the rice bubbles and didn't add coconut. Even husband likes them.

None of us actually like muesli bars and we DEVOUR these...they are AWESOME!!! I have lost count of how many trays of this we have made in the last couple of months...Miss 7 takes it very day for recess (I do drizzle chocolate over the top of hers).  We make it with macadamia and almonds in it for the adults...delish!!

  • I made these the other day

    Submitted by smiley_yas on 13. May 2014 - 23:54.

I made these the other day and they lasted less than 48 hours before they were all devoured!!

Today I made them again, but substituted (using the same amounts & cooking time/temp etc.) the butter with coconut oil, and used rapadura sugar instead of the brown sugar… just to 'clean' the recipe up a bit. I can't technically say to make it 'vegan', as most vegans would object to the use of honey. Anyhow, they worked out great and taste just as delicious. Thanks for an awesome recipe!
