Great recipe! I used half a tin of sweetened condensed milk (~200g) and wholemeal flour ('cause that makes them healthy, right?! Wink )
It was quite a thick dough. I'm still on thermie training-wheels, so turned the mix out in to a bowl and hand kneaded the choc chips in when it didn't look like they were getting incorporated. Should have tried on interval as per comment above.
I made 24 cookies at roughly 40g each which is a generous sized cookie about the size of the palm of my hand. They're for some a school bake sale so I wanted them to look roughly the same. Taste is amazing. Beautiful shape and crunch. Winning recipe!

WOW....thanks for the recipe....started making this and realised I had no condensed milk...out came the second bowl and had some made in minutes.... because I added warm condensed milk I think this made a difference to how much I need so I didn't seem to use as much as others said they did.

i have made these cookies many times.

This time I made double choc. I cut the amount of  sugar to 60g, 220g of butter, 5 heaped tablespoons condensed milk (200g) and 25g of cocoa. I used the same amount of SR Flour and choc chips.

With a 400g tin of condensed milk I am able to make 2 batches. I also used skim condensed milk.

Great recipe, thanks for posting. I added nearly a whole can of condensed milk & they turned out great, best biscuits I've made in thermie. I kept a little dough aside before I added chocolate chips, flattened out & added half a teaspoon of Nutella & rolled back into balls.....!! So sweet but soooo good!!

    Submitted by emphlegm on 28. October 2014 - 11:51.

Delicious dough and cookie! I didn't have any chips/bit so chopped block chocolate before starting dough and they came out like marble....so good. I haven't made many biscuits so I over estimated the size of the balls and hence had giant cookies. I will go smaller next time. Can't wait to do another batch. Have saved this recipe but don't think it'll be long before I know it off by heart. Thank you!

    Submitted by Adaless on 28. February 2013 - 21:01.

Excellent recipe. I chopped half milk chocolate melts and half dark chocolate melts first for a few seconds. i had a few chunky bits and some smaller bits.  I then added the chopped melts instead of the choc bits.  My tablespoons of   condensed milk were also quite generous.  Definitely make these again.

Made a second batch and only had 180g butter so reduced flour to 300g.  They still turned out great.

Made these yesterday, and have to limit consumption by family so they last more than a day!  These are the best choc chip biscuits I've made, interval for mixing in choc chips worked well.  They don't take long to cook at all.  'Move over Mrs Fields!'

Great comment yes I must admit that my 4 tablespoons of condensed milk are very generous definitely not neat ones. Also yesterday I made them and I tried putting the mixture on interval to mix in the choc chips which seemed to work better. I just put it on interval for 1minute.
