Herman The German Friendship Cake

Ingredients

12 slice(s)

Cake

  • 225 g sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 160 g oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanila extract
  • 2 apples quartered
  • 2 heaped teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 heaped teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 portion Sourdough starter

Topping

  • 40 g brown sugar
  • 50 g Butter

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place butter into TM bowl & melt for 2 mins 50 degrees speed 2- Set the butter to one side.


    Add the quatered apple  chop for 3 secs speed 5.


    Add all the other ingredients except the butter brown sugar


    Mix for 5-10 secs on speed 5.


    Put into a large greased baking tin. Sprinkle with brown sugar and melted butter.


    Bake for 45 minutes at 170‐180C. Test the middle with a clean knife; you may need to cover in tin foil and bake for a further 20 minutes to make sure your Herman is cooked properly in the middle.
