Soda Water Scones

Scones

  • 600 g Self Raising Flour
  • 110 g caster sugar
  • 250 g cream
  • 250 g soda water
  • 40 g Milk, to brush on top of scones

Recipe's preparation

    Soda Water Scones
  1. Place all ingredients into TM bowl except milk.

     Set dial to closed lid position, knead for 30 secs on interval setting.

    Place mixture onto lightly floured surface and press out until 2cm thick.Cut into rounds using a scone cutter. Brush tops of scones with milk.

    Bake in 220 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

Tip

make castor sugar first with raw sugar, 5 secs on speed 10.

You can use this recipe as a base for making savoury scones too just leave out the sugar & add cheese & chives etc.

My French version has 3 generous tablespoons of fresh or dried lavender added to the flour.

    Mine took longer to bake. It really depends on your oven I think.

    Great Scone recipe. I make a savoury version with 150g of bacon, 1c of frozen corn 1 onion and 1 1/2c grated cheese with a little to sprinkle over the top. I also use off cream as taught by my great grandmother. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

    I've never been confident making scones- but these were very easy and delicious.

    kids loved them.

    i only had pure cream and dextrose (50g). Worked great
