Tip

Converted from a Nigella recipe, I used a swiss merigue buttercream to ice with - delicious!

    Wow, so delicious!!

I was so worried initially as I doubled the mixture and it went all grainy... I cooked the mix anyway and it rose beautifully and tasted SO good!

I only made 15 average sized cupcakes though even though I doubled the mixture, then had to make another single batch to fill the other 9 cupcake moulds I had to fill.

    Great recipe though, thanks!

I made these for the second time this week. The recipe is easy, and the cupcakes are delicious. The second time around, I reduced the amount of sugar (100g instead of 130g).
Very easy and yummy. Thank you for sharing.

Great cupcakes!  So quick and easy, they were made and in the patties before the oven had come to temp.

makes the perfect amount, one tray in the oven and out 15 mins later so pretty much 20 mins all up.  I iced them with a basic buttercream.  Yummy!

  • Hi, Made these as a quicky.

    Submitted by Dot77 on 24. October 2014 - 16:42.

    Hi,

Made these as a quicky. Just throw everything in and that is what I call a quicky. Perhaps a little less sugar next time but then Nigella does love her indulgencies. I shall hold this one in my recipe collection for when a friend is on their way over for a cuppa.
