    AN AWESOME MEXICAN SEASONING

Just made this for our Taco Train night and I am so pleased with it. Very simple. Doubled the recipe and stored it in empty spice jars. Saving to my favourites. Highly Recommend!

Served this to a chilli sensitive relo and he was astonished at the lack of heat reaction so will be making this for them in a jar for Christmas. He was stoked to be able to each nachos without burning up. Thank you for this wonder recipe.

This is a fantastic seasoning mix. I have made this many times but is especially a crowd pleaser when I add this and homemade salsa to mince (with some hidden carrot and zucchini) for nachos- DELICIOUS!!

No More Packet Mixes!!! Best tacos ever - between this seasoning and the homemade tortillas....just fabulous!

This is a really nice Mexican seasoning - will definitely be making this again in larger quantities to have on hand.  Didn't have marjoram, so I left it out - otherwise made as specified.

    Thanks!

  • This recipe is perfect, and

    Submitted by Boyohboy on 23. April 2013 - 11:42.

This recipe is perfect, and my whole family loved it.  Rather than making up the big batch as called for in the recipe, I actually just added one teaspoon of each of the spices (instead of the 1 Tblsp), plus half the salt and pepper, to an individual 500g batch of mince (similar to one packet mix of taco seaosning). Super easy! I used fresh chillies as I had some on hand, but powder would work fine too. It tasted great, and I love knowing exactly what is in our food. No more packets for us! Thanks for sharing the recipe  tmrc_emoticons.)

thanks for the great recipe, we have just started a family tradition of having the same recipe on the same night once a week, so Wednesday night is officially Taco Salad night.  The only thing that bothered me was to buy the sachet of Taco seasoning... Thank you for perfecting the lovely simple dinner, now I know EXACTLY what i'm feeding my boys... few jalepeno's on the side and its very adult appealing too (or would just add more chili to an adult version) when I get more time I will post the whole recipe tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by jenny on 26. April 2012 - 15:04.

Oh my I have been waiting for a great recipe like this. I didn't have marjoram or onion flakes so left them out, but our meal was a hit! Made my own roti with besan flour, flour and water, piled the mince in with lettuce, tomato, carrot and cheese rolled them up and you could have heard a pin drop! This will definately be a favourite now. Thanks K8 martin from jenny martin Big Smile
