      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Pikelets
  1. Add 140gm SR flour, 40gm sugar (optional), 190gm milk, 1 egg, pinch of salt to mixing bowl for 20 seconds on Speed 5.
  2. Scrape down the sides, if neccessary, and mix for 10 seconds on Speed 5
  3. Place spoonfuls on the heated pan. Cook til bubbles appear then turn over and cook the other side.
  4. Keep batches warm in your ThermoServer until all the pikelets are cooked.
  5. Serve with butter, jam, syrup, or as desired.

Tip

This recipe can be doubled.

You can add a banana, broken into pieces, when mixing in the bowl for banana pikelets

Replace sugar with 2 heaped tablespoons of Milo for chocolate pikelets

Use the ThermoServer to keep all the pikelets warm while you cook the rest. It saves running the oven, not little hands in danger of getting burnt and everyone gets to eat warm pikelets all together.

    Cooked these this morning for the first time.

    Used oat milk and added in 1tsp baking powder and subbed the sugar for an overripe banana. Turned out light and fluffy, delish!

    Great recipe! Love that the batter is more of a runny consistency making it easier to remove from mixing bowl to a jug for pouring into a pan. I added 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1tsp of bicarbonate soda to miX. Delicious
