Recipe's preparation

  1. Before cooking quinoa, you need to wash and rinse it REALLY well to get rid of the naturally-occuring insect repellant the plant produces which causes a bitter taste. Some people like to soak their quinoa for an hour or so first, but I am never that organised so just rinse it through a fine sieve a few times.
Place quinoa, 125g water, 125g milk, vanilla and salt into thermomix. Cook for 15 minutes on 90 degrees, reverse, speed 1.
Add 100g milk and sultanas. Cook for 10 minutes on 100 degrees, reverse, speed 1.
Leave porridge for 5-10 minutes to soak up extra liquid.
Spoon into bowls and add sweetener of choice. Garnish with what ever fruit, yoghurt or nuts you like!
This recipe makes enough for two serves. I put the second serve in the fridge and re-heat it to eat the next morning.

Holy heck this was soooo good.
I used coconut cream instead of milk and it was absolutely amazing although I'm sure it would be amazing either way. I now have a new favourite breakfast 😁 thanks a bunch

Loved it! I doubled the recipe and added 5 extra mins to the cook time.
It did bubble up at one point so you need to keep an eye on it. It did settle back down after a minute or so.
This will be a regular in my house from now on!

I hate quinoa but wanted porridge so badly (gestational diabetes so porridge is a tricky one) and thought I'd give it a go. I had no idea about soaking it first, could be why I've never liked the taste previously 😅 This was amazing, I'm so glad I tried it, and can't wait to eat the rest tomorrow!

This is a beautiful way to start a winters day. Warming and healthy. I used coconut milk and coconut cream as the milk of choice and a traspoon of honey to finish it off. Just lovely thank you

I made this in my TM5 and it was super tasty! I added 1 tsp of chia seeds at the end some ground cinnamon and nutmeg and put it on reverse sp 1 for 4 minutes and it was done! I then added some chopped nuts. Thanks for the recipe. I will be making double next time. My 1yo devoured it! (So did i)

This is delicious! Two mornings in a row. I pour the mxture from the tmx bowl into the Thermoserver to help it with soaking up the liquid. I also pour enough chia seeds into the bottom of the server. They soak up the moisture too- AMAZING!. I'm gluten intollerant and can't do the usual oats. These are a WONDERFUL option for me. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, heartwarming recipe!

Very yummy and wholesome. I didn't have saltanas so I added one chopped date and one chopped apricot. I also used almond milk instead of normal milk. Topped with grated apple, blueberries, banana, macademia nuts, cinnamon and honey. So delish and have made it two days in a row. Just be careful, mine bubbled over both with the MC and the basket on top of the lid.
