This was the fastest and easiest pastry ever. Did not crumble when cut either. Tasted good as well. The onle thing that I would do next time is omit the salt and put sugar in its place. I was making a Apricot pie.

Does this need blind baking for a regular pie? I've seen comments about it needing to be blind baked for a quiche. Thanks tmrc_emoticons.)

WOW. This takes me back to the early 70's when I'd be watching my mother cook, no Thermomix back then tmrc_emoticons.) She said rule of thumb for good pastry is 1/2 shortening to flour. Exactly what your recipe states. Seems like some things never change and it works every time.
Thank you for sharing your recipe & taking me down memory lane.

Really good, made in TM5 on a houseboat with minimal utensils & a slightly dodgy oven. Used a bbq foil tray for apple pie. Ripper mate! Then made the next day like a biscuit, brushed with a bit of butter, sprinkled brown sugar over. Everyone loved it. This is in my collection, thanks for posting. Smile

    Hi vandorssen

Yes you would need to blind bake the pastry first, otherwise you run the risk of your quiche having a soggy bottom.

    Kind regards
