Tip

Use in sandwiches or focaccia, or even as a little salad dish.

When toasting mine, I add a mix of grated mozzerella, parmesan and tasty cheese.

"Kewpie" or Japanese Mayonnaise can be found in the asian food section of most major supermarkets.

Love this! I added 3 stalks of celery. I had a fairly large red onion that I probably should have just used half. Added extra mayo. I cut up nori seaweed into strips cut and spooned it on. Was delicious!

I didn't have celery and used more mayo but not double just left a small amount of springwater from tin and seasoned. Great quick and easy. Did it just before we left for a day at the beach. Yum

  • Tuna sandwich filling - Next

    Submitted by Wyn on 22. July 2016 - 20:43.

Tuna sandwich filling - Next time I will double the mayo and add 2-3 lots of celery.  I couldn't taste the celery at all and mayo didn't seem to be enough ... as I like the mixture a little more creamier.

  • Enjoyable tuna sandwich

Enjoyable tuna sandwich filling. As per comments, added 3 celery stalks and 75g mayonnaise. As I was making tuna melts, I added 30g cheddar cheese and the recipe made enough for 6 toasted sandwiches. Will make again.

  • Great base recipe but I

    Submitted by meljb on 17. August 2014 - 10:49.

Great base recipe but I tweaked it to suit me - I used 4 shortish stalks of celery & 100g of mayo (I personally love the blessed & lucky free range egg mayonnaise so that's what I used). Tastes delicious, has a nice texture & is creamy. Yum!

Just to let people know, I think Kewpie mayo has 621 added ie MSG.
