Recipe's preparation
Place garlic, onion, carrots and herbs into TM bowl and pulverise for about 20 seconds on speed 8.
Scrape down sides of bowl and add oil
Saute for 5 mins 100deg speed 2
Add all other ingredients and cook 30 mins on varoma on "Gentle stir setting"
Use the basket instead of the MC to help with sauce spitting. Although I like to steam meatballs in the varoma for 30 minutes above it while the sauce cooks and this works well.
Pour into sterilzed jars.
Cook a little longer to make thicker and if you wish to make tomato paste.
This makes approximately 2 x 500 g jars for me and so far it keeps for up to 2 weeks but I haven't kept it any longer.

yum, just made this today! I've only had my thermy one week,so I thought I should start out with something simple
I did make a few changes after reading these comments...i went with about 1tsp of sugar rather than the 2 heaped tbspoons...about 60g of oil instead of 75...and 150ml water instead of 200ml.
I used one 400g can of chopped tomatoes & 3 fresh chopped tomatoes and made up the extra 100-ish grams by throwing in chopped mushrooms.
I also left the salt & pepper out as I found it didnt need them at all! Turned out delicious!

Hi, so sorry for the late
Hi, so sorry for the late reply. I don't seem to have much luck with this site since they made some changes several weeks ago.
The recipes tweaks I tried to change were to reduce the water to around 200 ml/g, reduce the oil to 50 g and to increase the tomato paste to about 150 g. Also I would add the onion in with the carrots, herbs and garlic. For me this makes a richer tomato sauce with less oil and a little less watery. That said the original is great these are just the tweaks I have made to our taste. It makes 2 x 500 g jars. I keep it in the fridge and generally use them both within the week. I haven't tried keeping them longer.
Hope that helps!!

How long will this keep for, and does it need to be kept refrigerated, or can it go in the cupboard?
