I. How do I register for the Forum/Recipe Community?
If you are a new visitor, click on “Register” within the Forum or Recipe Community and follow the instructions shown. The registration process is very quick and you can start using the site straight away. Once you have registered within the Forum or Recipe Community, you will be able to access both areas using the same log-in details.
II. Can I use the same registration details on the Recipe Community and the Forum?
Yes, your registration is valid for both the Forum and Recipe Community. Once you have registered for one, you can also log in to the other using the same user name and password.
III. What should I do if I forget my password?
Click on “Forgotten your password?” within the Forum or Recipe Community. Enter your user name or email address. An activation link will then be sent to the email address you registered with. Once you click on it, your Member Account will be reactivated and you will be able to enter a new password. N.B. If you have a new email address and haven’t yet entered it on our system, please contact our Vorwerk Support team. This only applies if you no longer have access to your previous email account.
IV. Can I change my user name?
No, the user name you chose when you registered cannot be altered after registration has been completed. For this reason, please make sure you enter the correct user name before you send the registration form.
V. Can I change my password?
Yes, you can change your password by clicking on “My Account” in the menu. Then select “Edit”. Enter your new password in the field marked “Password” and repeat it in the field marked “Confirm Password”. Now click on “Save”. Your password has now been changed and you can use the new one the next time you log in.

I. How can I subscribe to the Thermomix newsletter or RSS Feed?
You can access the newsletter subscription and the RSS Feed right next to the mobile tab on the right-hand panel.
II. Why can’t I upload recipes?
The View function for the recipes is accessible to everyone, but you must be signed in to upload any recipes. Once registered, simply sign in with your user name and password and you will be able to upload recipes straight away.
III. Why are my recipe instructions not displayed correctly?
This problem occurs when recipe instructions are taken from an existing document that has already been formatted. In such cases, click on the Word symbol in the formatting bar of the Preparation box, then copy the desired text into the window that opens and press “Insert”. The text will then be added without formatting.
IV. Why can’t I download/print any recipes?
The View function for the recipes is accessible to everyone, but you must be signed in to download or print recipes. Once registered, simply sign in with your user name and password and you will be able to download and print recipes straight away.
V. Why can’t I comment on any recipes?
You must be signed in to comment on any recipes. Once registered, simply sign in with your user name and password within the Forum or Recipe Community and you will be able to post your comments on the recipes.
VI. Why can’t I rate recipes?
You must be signed in before you can rate any recipes. Once registered, simply sign in with your user name and password and you will be able to start rating recipes straight away.
VII. How can I comment on the latest recipe posted on the site?
You will see the latest recipes displayed on the Recipe Community start page. Simply click on the title of the recipe to read the full text. You can then comment on the recipe.
VIII. How can I display the latest comments posted on the site?
A list of the latest comments is displayed on the Recipe Community home page. You will see the recipe title followed by the number of comments already posted about that recipe. To read all the comments, simply click on the recipe title and you will be able to view the full text.
IX. How can I read comments posted about my own recipes?
Once you have signed in, you will see a note in your Member area telling you how many new comments have been posted about your recipes. If you click on the link, you will be able to view the list of your recipes with any new comments you haven’t yet seen.
X. How can I search for a recipe by title?
There is a search panel on the Recipe Community home page where you can enter the title of the desired recipe. Then click on “Search” and you will see any hits that match your search.
XI. How can I search for all the recipes of one user?
Open a recipe of the desired user. Below the username of the recipe author you´ll find a link "View recipes". With click on this button, you´ll get all recipes of this user displayed.
XII. How can I select recipes with particular ingredients?
Open "search" in the menu and then "Search for recipes". Click on the button "open advanced search" and you can see a refrigerator-image. Now type in the names of the ingredients ("ingredient 1" "ingredient2" "ingredient 3"), that the recipe should contain, in the top 3 rows. Now click on "search now" on the bottom of the page. The recipes can be compossed of one single ingredient or of a combination of more than one component (e.g. type in "bread" for ingredient 1 and "chocolate" for ingredient 2). The system now shows you every recipe, that you only need these two ingredients for to prepare them. Of course you can combine the ingredient search with all other options in the advanced search as well to get an even more detailed result.
XIII. How can I search for recipes without particular ingredients?
Open "search" in the menu and then "Search for recipes". Click on the button "open advanced search" and you can see a refrigerator-image. Now type in the names of the ingredients ("ingredient 1" "ingredient2" "ingredient 3"), that the recipe should not contain, in the bottom 3 rows. Now click on "search now" on the bottom of the page. You can now see every published recipe that does not contain the searching-ingredients. You can search recipes, which don´t contain one single ingredient or combination of different ingredients (e.g. type in "eggs" in ingredient 1 and "milk" in ingredient 2). The system now shows you every recipe, that does not need these ingredients for preparation.
XIV. How can I view all the recipes within one category?
On the homepage of the recipe community you can see an overview of every category. You can click on the name of the requested category, to choose it and look at it. A list of all results of this category will open. If you click "all categories" under categories on the homepage, you will get an overview of every category of the recipe community.
XV. Can I enter several search terms simultaneously to get particular search results?
Certainly. You can search for one or more search term(s) in order to get the results you are looking for. For example, it is possible to combine every recipe with a certain search term in the category "soups and starters" in combination with ingredients, which a recipe should not contain.
XVI. In which ways can I utilise the search function?
You have the option either to search for recipes and their corresponding ingredients for topics in the forum, or for users, by using the search panel on the home page, or the search page directly. All three search categories can be further customised by setting specific parameters. For example, you can determine if you only wish to search for recipes with a medium difficulty, or a short preparation time, to be displayed in the search results. In the forum search tab you can search for topics that were created in a certain time frame. Finally you can also look for users with a specific cooking skill, be it a beginner, or a chef in the user search.
Using functions:
I. How can I post a recipe?
Once you have registered as a user, you can upload recipes to the Recipe Community. Click on “insert recipe”. Fill out all the fields and click on “Publish”. The recipe will be uploaded to the recipe page and be visible to all users.
II. How do I post a comment?
Once you have registered as a user, you can comment on recipes. Open the detailed view of the recipe you would like to comment on. Then click on “Add new comment”. Write your comment in the appropriate field. Your text will appear under the heading “Comments” below the instructions for that recipe. N.B. The comments posted must apply to that particular recipe. For any other type of comment or to share opinions with others, please use the Forum.
III. How can I rate a recipe?
Once you are a registered user you can give your opinion on a recipe. When you are viewing any recipe you will see 5 stars indicating the current rating of the recipe. If you have not already rated the recipe, highlight with your mouse the number of stars you want to give the recipe (poor, needs improvement, ok, good, excellent). The stars will change colour from grey to orange when you roll your mouse over them. Click on the star/s you want to award, e.g. select 4 stars out of 5. Your rating will be saved and included in the average rating assigned to that recipe. N.B. It is not possible to rate a recipe multiple times. Once you have given your rating, you can no longer rate that particular recipe again.
IV. How can I add a photo to my recipe?
Within the “Insert recipe” form there is a field called “Picture”. By clicking on the “Browse” button you can select the desired photo from those saved on your computer, or directly from your digital camera. Then click on the “Upload” button so that a preview of the photo appears on your screen. When you click on “Save” at the end of the recipe, the photo will be uploaded with your recipe. N.B. the only acceptable format for photos is: JPG, but you don’t have to worry about converting the image format. The system will do that automatically for you.
V. How can I edit or delete a recipe once I have posted it?
To edit a recipe, you must be logged on. Open the recipe and click on the button marked “Edit” at the top of the screen. By clicking on this button, you can switch to recipe editing mode and make your changes. N.B. don’t forget to press “Save” when you have finished, otherwise your changes will not be adopted. If you like to delete a a recipe please get in contact with the moderators.
VI. Can I change or delete a comment once it has been posted?
Yes and no. Once you have logged in, you can edit your comments at any time. However, deleting them is not an option.
VII. What does “User Rating” mean?
This relates to the degree of satisfaction users express about a particular recipe. Ratings are assigned on a scale from 1 to 5 (poor, needs improvement, ok, good, excellent) and displayed as orange stars. In order to assign a rating, you must be a registered user. You can only vote once per recipe. The number of stars displayed represents the average rating of all individual votes.
VIII. How do I use the shopping-list?
You can use the shopping list function if you wish to cook one or more recipes from the Recipe Community. It shows all the necessary ingredients from your selected recipes and compiles a list that you can utilise to buy the ingredients necessary for certain recipes. In order to access the shopping list you should go to “My recipes”. You will now see the shopping list category on the right, below your logout button. You also have the option to remove certain ingredients or whole recipes from your list. You can add recipes directly to your shopping list by pressing the “Add to shopping list” button while viewing a recipe.
IX. How can I recommend a recipe to one of my friends?
While viewing a recipe you can recommend it to one of your friends by clicking on “Recommend Recipe”. Simply enter the email addresses of the friends you wish to send the recipe to. You also have the ability to recommend the recipe on Facebook and Twitter by clicking on the respective icons while viewing a recipe. You can also get a print or PDF version of a recipe by clicking on those terms in the recipe view.
X. How can I view my received messages?
You can see your messages in your profile in the “My messages” panel. You can mark them as read, reply to each message, or delete them as necessary.
XI. What’s the meaning of the cooking apron in my profile?
The cooking apron in your profile serves as an indicator for your status. There are 10 status levels. You can increase your status level by creating recipes, commenting on recipes or uploading pictures. The number in your cooking apron and other users’ aprons depicts your and their current status levels.
XII. What does the heart in the recipe view mean?
On the top right in the recipe view of every recipe, you cann see a heart-symbol. With clicking on the heart, you can show fast and easy, that you like this recipe. It is important, that you can only state once, that you like this recipe, as it goes withe the rating of a recipe. You can see that you already used this function, if the heart is coloured pink. You can see, how many users already stated that they like this recipe on the basis of the number to the right of the heart.
XIII. How do I rate a recipe?
You can vote for and rate recipes by clicking on the thumbs-up icon that is displayed in the recipe view. You can see how many other users have voted for this recipe as well by checking the number in the thumbs-up icon.
XIV. What’s the purpose of the “My collection” function?
You can now create custom collections of recipes, for example “My favourite Christmas dinners”. This feature can be accessed in your profile under “My collection”. Here you can create your own collections of recipes just by adding them into a category of your choice. You will have permanent access to these collections and can view them any time you visit your profile.
