I used the Varoma for the first time tonight. I did meatloaf with the mushroom sauce (page 100 of spiral bound Thermomix cookbook). The hubby was VERY impressed!

My only concern was the mushroom sauce was way too salty (must have used too much TM vegetable stock) and it didn't make enough of the sauce. I ended up making a gravy and adding the mushroom sauce. The recipe said 300mL of water and I think if I had doubled it, it may still have not been enough.

Has anyone else tried this recipe? Cheers Lisa ;)

Big smile Hi Lisa.  Yes!  I made this recipe last week for my family (nine of us) and with some potato and veg on the side it was a huge meal.  I just doubled the recipe for the mushroon sauce and it was plenty! I used a whole packet of pre-sliced mushrooms from the shop - I think it was 500g - but the rest I just doubled.  I didn't put any extra salt or pepper either as I find the TM veg. stock is salty enough for us.  Also, I did not use the Wine but added a little extra water.  I don't know if that made a difference?

Also, I just remembered that I did put a piece of baking paper under the meatloaf in the varoma dish.  So the juices would not have dripped down into my mushroom sauce.  I wonder if that would have made yours a little saltier?  Anyway,  give it another go, sometimes you need to tweek things a little to suit your taste.  We loved this recipe too.Love

Good luck, Wendy.
