Hi everyone, i've just ordered a TM31....can't wait for it to be here! Have known about them for a number of months and now am soooooooo excited about what i believe wil be such a significant turning point in my life in the kitchen. EVEN though i know it's not going to happen overnight, i know it WILL happen! Big smile

I am currently undergoing a food elimination program so this has been an eye opener, esp. considering all the added CRAP that's in our packaged foods these days!!! My DS is 7, DD about to turn 5 and DD2 is nearly 2. Hubby 34 is excited too!

Can anyone help me out with any recipes that don't include dairy? I mean ALL dairy - NO cheese, milk, butter, cream etc. I have a couple of tubs of tofutti "better than cream cheese" (substitute for philly cream cheese obviously Tongue ). And some silken tofu as well which i have heard can be substituted for whenever there's a need for sour cream. :~  not a fan of tofu but i might not have the option.......i do use soy milk for alot of cooking now and i know i can make my own soy milk in my TM! Big smile but it's the things like cream and sour cream that i am not able to cook with coz there's no soy substitute. as far as i know. Wink

hope to make some good connections on this, i'm uber-new so would relish any advice!

Thanks.

That blog has wonderful Idea's Quirky Jo is great at dairy free.

Soy and rice milk work as good substitutes in the custard.

Rice milk and Nuttelex (you get it in the margarine section in Coles, its a dairy free marg, and not any nasties in it) make a good white sauce with some flour and salt.  We use that on pizza as a sauce (we cant have tomato's either) and it kinda is like cheese, although you do need to add a LOT of salt to make it more cheesy, we add about 1-2 tsps to the 500ml's rice milk.  I just use the EDC recipe and substitute.

Loads of other recipes in the EDC are dairy free too, like the bread, apricot chicken rissotto etc.

Good luck, you wont know yourself with thermie in the kitchen, it's such a great machine, and even better when you are dealing with foods you need to avoid.

We avoid all artificial flavours, clours and preservatives as per the failsafe diet. We also avoid the natural chemical amines (found in some fruits, veggies, cheese, nuts and more).  I did do the diet for 18 months without thermy, but I aint going back for anything.

Not a day goes by I don't use my thermomix!
