Hi - we are newbies- first question - if my daughter eats vegemite her lips swell - any ideas what causes this?
I'm not a doctor, so I can't make a diagnosis, but a question comes to mind ... is she allergic to yeast, perhaps?
Well vegemite is a substance that has two main ingredients Yeast extracts and MSG. You must be aware that many are allergic to MSG in food. So it has to be one of two reasons probably.
I think yeast extract is MSG that occurs naturally. Flavour enhancers such as these can have that type of reaction
On one hand, common eye diseases (including cataracts, glaucoma and age related macular degeneration) are quite harmful to eye health and normal eyesight. On the other hand, the good news is that all these conditions are preventable to some extent. There are generally many tips that are recommended to prevent these eye diseases in advance. http://www.bed-bugs.net
Vegemite has a natural free glutamate, it doesnt have any msg added per se.No 600's to be seen.
many food have naturally occuring glutamate
The allergin in vegemite is barley, perhaps she might be allergic to that rather than yeast itself? Can she eat breads etc with out lip swelling occuring?
