      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    METHOD
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.

Grease a 25cm round or rectangle baking dish with the softened butter, then sprinkle sugar over base and sides.

Dot the cherries around the base of the dish then place in the oven for 5 minutes so the fruit can begin to soften if using fresh cherries, otherwise, drain canned cherries and place into dish, (no need to soften).

Add plain flour, baking powder, eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla into mixing bowl and blend for 25sec/sp5 until combined, rest for 20 - 30 minutes.

Pour over cherries until they are just covered and place into oven and bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until puffy & golden. dust with icing sugar and serve.

This is delicious but I should have used a larger dish as it took a couple of hours to cook in the deep dish I made this in. I covered the dish with foil to keep it from burning. It coud have also had something to do with using frozen cherries.

tmrc_emoticons.) Great old fashion favourite recipe. My mother made it for me & my sisters (although not with a TM), I made it for my children (not with a TM) & now a making it for my grandchildren (Yep! with a TM).  tmrc_emoticons.)                        Can make it using fresh plums, peaches, apricots...the list is endless especially with an abundance of fresh fruit in season.
