Ingredients
8 portion(s)
Vanilla Ice cream
- 600 grams full fat cream, (600 ml)
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk, (395gm)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cookies and cream variation
- 150 grams Chocolate biscuit (OREO are perfect), crushed/broken into small pieces
Honeycomb variation
- 2 package Crunchie bar OR violet crumble bar, crushed/broken in to small pieces
Strawberry variation
- 1 package Fresh Strawberries, hulled, (1 punnet) Blitzed to chosen size - chunky or smooth
Recipe's preparation
Insert butterfly.
Add cream and vanilla to bowl and mix on SPEED 2 as you pour the condensed milk into the mix through the lid.
Once all in increase to SPEED 3 for 2-3 minutes until mixture is thick and creamy. (I did this in two steps - 1 min 15 secs, followed by an additional 1 min - so 2min 15 sec total and it was perfect).
Pour into suitable container and freeze until set.
Fold through chosen variant SPEED 2 REVERSE "Counter-clockwise operation" 5 secs.
The variation ingredient may not be completely through the mix, but as you pour it into the freezing container it will mix a bit more. Adjust this time to your preference.

Tip
Sorry about the picture - this is of the strawberry ice cream, the picture was an afterthought as my son was eating it!!!
This would work with just about any addition once the ice cream itself is made - I have tried each of these variations and it is a super creamy, easy and very quick ice cream to make.
To prepare the strawberries for the strawberry ice cream simply wash and hull then blitz 10 SEC on Speed 7 (adjust speed if you like it chunky)

The first time I made this with 35% cream it curdled and could not be used. I then made the 'strawberry variation' using 45% double cream. While the cream didn't curdled, the ice cream was exceptionally creamy and inedible. Will not be making again.
This was a very easy recipe
This was a very easy recipe and the finished product was delish! Added oreos to make cookies and cream flavour.. Yumm
Thanks so much for sharing.

Easy, delicious - winner.
Easy, delicious - winner. Tip for creamier ice cream: first whip the cream for 30 seconds on speed 4, until about the consistency of double cream. Then lower to speed 2 and proceed with the recipe. It also makes it easier to scoop straight from frozen. I always make my own condensed milk (recipe from here) with a lot less sugar - about 80-100g - and it's still plenty sweet enough. Thanks for the recipe!
Hmmmm. Not sure why it split
Hmmmm. Not sure why it split on you - I have not had it split on me ever. I try to make it resemble what I would call thick cream, kind of like the one you dollop. Not as far as whipped cream would look. Hope that makes sense.

Just made this again, so easy
Just made this again, so easy & yummy!
I just tried this twice and
I just tried this twice and both times it split! So disappointed... I was so careful not to whisk for too long.... I was trying to see a whipped texture.... Is it meant to look a bit like whipped cream... Any advice?
For those of you wishing to
For those of you wishing to make this less sweet, try making your own sweetened condensed milk (recipe on this site is awsome) and just halve or even quarter the sugar depending on your added ingredients. I only put around 80g of sugar, the condensed milk is a little runny but it doesn't effect the ice cream in any way. Am making the kids blueberry ice creams this weekend! The strawberry ones were a huge hit!
love it, so easy and so
love it, so easy and so tasty!
Yum!!!! So easy and so
Yum!!!! So easy and so tasty! it's a little more sickly than I would normally like ice-cream, which I guess is the condensed milk, but for how easy it is that's definitely worth it. Accidentally made it without the butterfly in, then spotted it just after I'd put it in the freezer!! Definitely noticed the difference in thickness once I'd done it again with the butterfly. Excited to try out different flavours of this
Made it again with my
Made it again with my daughter's creation, Gummy Bears. Hubby says this is the best ice cream he's ever tasted.
5 stars from my lot I added
5 stars from my lot I added crushed maltesers. Really easy recipe, but wasn't sure how thick to mix it til. It didn't seem to thicken how I imagined it, even after longer than the recipe said, but tasted delicious once set.
This ice cream is unreal! So
This ice cream is unreal! So creamy and dangerously easy to make. I used 1 tsp of vanilla extract and a scraped vanilla bean. The vanilla bean really enhanced the flavour and it was perfect for my liking. Can't wait to start trying different variations.
This is just the best receipt
This is just the best receipt for ice-cream! the first time I made it, I added violet crumble, my daughter said "Mum, we are never buying store-bought ice-cream ever again!" Huge favourite, make a tub each week and kids choose a different mix-in. A personal favourite was adding crunchy peanut butter & crushed maltesers. Fantastic!
Oh my goodness, this is so
Oh my goodness, this is so delicious. Just like soft serve! I added chopped up crunchies to mine. So many flavour possibilities, will be making this icecream again thats for sure!
Can't say enough about this
Can't say enough about this recipe. Every other thermo icecream recipe is basically frozen custard. LOVE IT!!!
I've tried this recipe twice
I've tried this recipe twice today and both have turned to a curdled mess. Made it for Christmas with no issues....
So easy and everyone loved
So easy and everyone loved it!!!
my partner loved this more than the one in the basic cook book that took a lot longer to make....
