Golden Syrup and Ginger Dumplings

Ingredients

4 portion(s)

Dumplings

  • 170 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 80 grams Butter
  • 2 centimetres ginger
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Milk

Sauce

  • 45 grams Butter
  • 200 grams brown sugar
  • 1 orange, Juiced
  • 75 grams golden syrup
  • 170 grams water

Recipe's preparation

    Dumplings
  1.  

    Place ginger in TM Bowl. 5 seconds speed 8. Scrape down.

     

    Add flour,butter into bowl with ginger. Blend on 5 seconds on speed 5. Should look like fine bread crumbs. 

     

    Add egg and milk, blend on speed 4 for 10seconds 

     

    Form into balls and place into varoma tray. 

     

  2. Sauce
  3. Add brown sugar, butter, golden syrup, water and the juice of one orange into bowl, place varoma on top

    varoma speed 2 20minutes 

    Serve straight away or allow dumplings to sit in sauce in the thermoserver until ready to serve

    serve with ice cream or custard

Tip

Serve dumplings with toasted pistachios and coconut 

instead of regular milk used coconut milk instead

    Just wondering if the 2 cm piece of ginger would chop up finely enough when it's added with flour.
