Ingredients

Base

  • Zest of an orange
  • 80 grams walnuts
  • 60 grams raw cashews
  • 30 grams cacao powder
  • 40 grams Shredded coconut
  • 5 pitted dates
  • 30 grams coconut oil
  • 30 grams Raw Honey
  • Juice of half and Orange
  • 10 grams vanilla extract or paste

Filling

  • 200 grams raw cashews
  • 30 grams Shredded coconut
  • pinch Himalayan salt
  • 60 grams Raw Honey
  • juice of half an orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 50 grams Raw Honey
  • 20 grams cacao powder
  • 70 grams coconut oil
  • 10 grams vanilla extract
  • 5 grams Natural Orange Extract

Recipe's preparation

    Slice Base
  1. Place orange zest in Closed lid. Mill 10 seconds/speed 9. Check consistency and mill until zest is in fine pieces.

  2. Place walnuts, cashews, cacao powder, dates and coconut in Closed lid. Mill 9 seconds/speed 9.

    Add coconut oil, honey, vanilla and juice, blend 5 seconds/speed 5.

  3. Press into a square slice baking tray, ensure tin is lined with baking paper. Do not grease tray. Place in freezer/fridge whilst making the filling.

  4. Filling
  5. Blend cashews, cacao, coconut and salt in Closed lid15 seconds/speed 8, scrape sides 8 seconds/speed 8. Ensure smooth consistency.

  6. Add honey, juice and vanilla, blend 10 seconds/speed 5. Press filling onto base and place back into freezer whilst making chocolate.

  7. Topping
  8. Place honey, cacao, coconut oil and vanilla in Closed lid, blend 10 seconds/speed 4. Scrape and repeat until consistency is smooth. Smooth over filling, refridgerate for 30 minutes.

     

  9. Cut into your choice of portion sizes and enjoy tmrc_emoticons.)

    I love this recipe! I used a large orange, set and stored in the freeze after slicing. Beautiful dessert. Thanks for sharing.

    This is really yummy!  I think next time I wouldn't bother icing it, as the coconut oil taste came through very strong (this might just be the brand of oil I'm using at the moment too).

    Made this the other day.  It has not set as firm as I would like.  Might be because the orange I used was large.  Might be a good idea to quote orange juice by measurment rather that saying juice of half an orange, as oranges are all different sizes.  Also, in the method portion for the filling it states to include cacao, when there is none listed in the ingredients for the filling.  Its also a bit sweet for my likeing so next time I think I will use less honey and may be abit more coconut oil to cut down the sweetness and to try and get it to harden more.  Tastes great though.  Would also help to know what size tin you used.
