Used 200g sugar
It was very soft so maybe the 36hours in freezer was not long enough. It was still very sweet next time I might do 100g sugar and leave for 2 days and nights in freezer. Think it would be a winner if I coukd get is not so soft next time. It is not what I would call a caramel flavour I would call it maple choc chip

Excellent thank you. I think this should be called salted maple butter ice cream (there’s no real caramel flavour). Also I’d prob reduce the sugar content next time. Thanks, I’d make again

Hi, no need for the butterfly whisk. In step 3 where is refers to 'whisk' it is just referring to the term of whisking/mixing things together.
Kind Regards

Hi there, I'm just wondering if you need to use the whisk attachment as it says 'whisk together' on step 3 but no reference to the actual whisk attachment?Any feedback is appreciated I want to try & make this over the weekend.

Hi
Standard pouring (whipping) cream is the cream we use to make most icecreams.
Kind regards

This is a delicious recipe, super tasty.
This is a delicious recipe, super tasty. We did find it extremely sweet even though we only 200g (too sweet for our taste). I will definitely cook this again and perhaps try 100g sugar...or perhaps just the maple syrup is enough sweetness??

Taste was great but the texture wasn't right. The caramel seemed to split in the freezer and it took around 48 hours to set for me in my thermo.
All round winner... easy,
All round winner... easy, goes with any dessert or on its own and Soooo delicious! I chose to omit the chocolate and serve it on the side as an option... Thank you!
Very indulgent and delicious.
Very indulgent and delicious. I used mostly 70% chocolate and some 85%. If using dark chocI would recommend grating it instead of using chunks as the contrast of very bitter to the very sweet icecream wasn't as enjoyable. The bits of ours that was grated was much nicer. I would also receommend not over doing the portion size as its very sweet.

Hello from Germany!
I want to try your recipe and was just wondering if I can use sth else for the "heaped Vanilla exstract" because I don´t have it....
Can I use fresh Vanilla or selfmade Vanillasugar? If yes, how much? Don´t know what the taste difference is because I never had it!
Thank you
Churned it in an icecream
Churned it in an icecream maker and froze in cold metal loaf tin. Sliced it and served it at a dinner party with The Amazing Salted Caramel Sauce. Sensational.

The first real ice cream I
The first real ice cream I made in my Thermomix and a big hit with the family. Wasn't a fan of the choc bits but it may have been the chocolate I used as it went very hard. Looking forward to making this again.
As others have said, this ice
As others have said, this ice cream is absolutely incredible. I also used only 230g of sugar (half brown half white as that is all I had). Can't wait for another special occasion so I can make it again.

Simply devine!!!! As a few other people have stated this never froze well for me. It was definitely like soft serve but none the less tasted absolutely amazing. I will be making it again for sure
This was such a hit. I
This was such a hit. I actually just did it as maple syrup and it was yummo. I have been requested to make more by the parents
Help! The scales somehow did
Help! The scales somehow did not measure the cream correctly - and I put in 600gms cream and 70gms of milk without realising and I have it already mixing on the final 5 mins. Is there anyway I can thicken it? Or is it going to end up a runny puddle Was really looking forward to this
Dani
I made this on the weekend.
I made this on the weekend. I froze mine in my Thermoserver and it did take over 24 hours to freeze. For an alteration, I added 70% dark chocolate chips into the mixture. For our personal taste, next time I will use less salt. I will use half or maybe even quarter the salt quantity. It was very yum and I will definitely be making this again.
Very yummy, like others said
Very yummy, like others said it is sweet but easily fixed by having small amounts. Mine set in the 10 hours that the recipe suggests.

Mine took 3 days to set.
Mine took 3 days to set. Worth the wait though! Super rich.
I've had this in the freezer
I've had this in the freezer for 40 hours and it's still a puddle. Barely showing signs of thickening, let alone freezing. Not impressed Pity, because the flavour is awesome.
I halved the sugar and it was
I halved the sugar and it was still super sweet. Like most posters I notice it took much longer to freeze than other ice creams I've made. Make it 2 days in advance for best results. Otherwise - LOADS of positive comments.
Stay healthy and happy with the help of your Thermomix

I made this to share with
I made this to share with friends, and it is absolutely fantatic! I used Himalayan rock salt and the salt flavour was quite intense, so I think I'll use less next time. My icecream took more than 12 hours to set, I made it on Friday night to serve on Saturday night. Utterly gorgeous, decadent deliciousness.
