Delicious. I had frozen raspberries on hand so used those instead of strawberries but the added water made the consistency too runny, closer to jam, so the crumble sank and the whole thing was a very tasty slop!

If I use raspberries next time I'll omit the water.

    thanks for sharing

    Submitted by Christian.Komzak on 18. January 2015 - 13:24.

Delicious!!  We didn't have hazelnuts, so used roasted almonds instead.  Also didn't quite have enough rhubarb, so added a peeled and sliced grannysmith apple to get the correct weight.  Yummy crumble!! tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Loved the idea of this recipe

Submitted by Kerry Orr on 5. July 2012 - 19:14.

Loved the idea of this recipe but encountered problems with the execution. Both times I found the crumble to be more of a sugar crust - socond time I added more oats and flour to get the right consistency. I loved the flavor combinations of the rhubarb, strawberry and lemon with the vanilla. Tried both vanilla paste 1/2 tsp and this time a bean. Thanks for the recipe. tmrc_emoticons.D

Submitted by Carol Sroczynski on 24. August 2011 - 09:18.

Lo ved the crumble topping.  I will be using it for all my fruit crumbles.  Didn't have any hazelnuts, so used pecans instead.
