Tip

Try adding extra spices for fuller flavour

Adding vanilla powder gives a delicious flavour, if you don't mind the vanilla in your tea

When serving, splash some vanilla extract into your mug

Great mix. I have popped a vanilla pod in my jars to give it a slight vanilla taste. Yummo.

  • Thanks for the recipe and

Thanks for the recipe and variations - I made it with milk powder (and some nutmeg, vanilla and cloves as well). I only used 300g milk powder and no sugar but it still came up not 'spicy chai' enough for me - nice, just bland. I will make it again and next time use maybe only 200g milk powder. Admittedly, I made it up with cold water and ice cos it's a shocking hot day! It might taste more strongly of the spices if I made it up with sugar and hot water tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Thank you for this

Thank you for this recipe!!... I tweaked it a bit as I was a bit wary of  all the additives in Coffee Mate and I prefer to mill my spices (and I like the extra spice flavour).

    80g raw sugar -                 1.mill 10 sec on 9

    2 1/2  Cinnamon quills

1 Tbsp cardarmom pods  2. add cinnamon and cardamom and mill 1 min on 9

    1/2 Tbsp ground ginger

500g skim milk powder    3. add ginger and milk powder  and mix 20 sec on 9

Add 2-3 tsp to black tea to make chai latte or to warm milk and Enjoy!

I love your labels too! tmrc_emoticons.8)

We love this. So much cheaper than buying the sachets. I doubled up the spices as we like the fuller flavour..
