Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip
As noted this makes approx 800g of mix. Great for gifts.
Add 3 tablespoons of mix to a cup of hot milk or water.
Can also add 1 cup of milk to jug with 3tbs mix and process 3min, 80 degrees, speed 3
* I found the candy canes alone did not leave any peppermint taste hence why I used peppermint extract. Peppermint essence could be used but as its not as strong you may need to add more.

Made this into 6 snack size sandwich bags with 12 tablespoons each bag and it is going into little hampers for work friends.
I really liked that the flavour was subtle and you can add more mix to the cup if you want to.
I added the 3/4 teaspoon of regular cooking peppermint essence but also added another 1/2 teaspoon of DoTerra peppermint oil to boost it a bit, yummy 😋
I put some Coles fantasy marshmallows (star shapes) on top as a special touch and my 5yo thinks it's so special!

Great recipe, I had a heap of broken candy canes so I didn't add the icing sugar to make up for the extra candy canes. Tastes great!

Delicious. My daughter and I just whipped up a batch this morning for gifts, she was not happy that we are giving it away, looks like we have to make another lot for us.

I just made this to put in hampers. Hubby loves hot chocolate so put milk in the bowl with the leftover mix. He loved it. He has requested this one now instead of the other I made him. I had half a mint bubbly chocolate so put that in also. Thanks for a great recipe

I just made this as an addition to some Chrismtas hampers I am putting together. Of course I had to try it before handing it out. Its DEVINE! I might have to stock up on candy canes to keep for winter.
