      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Method:
  1. Add the garlic, ginger and onion to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 Seconds/Speed 5. Scrape down from the sides of the bowl. Add the Olive oil and sauté for 2 Min /100C/ Speed 2.

Really delicious. I've made it twice now and both times have been great. I find my chicken always needs a few more minutes to cook (perhaps I cut too large), but otherwise foolproof.

Loved the flavour. Made a couple of alterations and added some corn flour to thicken the mixture up a bit, but loved the flavour.

There's a few bits of info missing here - when to put the rice in, a few temperatures, etc. Maybe consider editing????

I put the rice in at step 2 (read the comments after and was pleased to see that's what others chose).

    I just guessed the temperatures....

    Submitted by Nettle90 on 2. January 2016 - 21:14.

Just made this for dinner for the family and it was a hit! Added the rice in step 2 as per previous comments and it turned out great, also added an extra 100g of coconut milk as that was just the size tin it came in and I had extra chicken anyway. Will surely be making this again!

    Submitted by Thebartlettbunch on 15. November 2015 - 07:24.

I added the rice (medium grain) in step 2, and it still needed an extra 5 minutes to cook through. So i put the chicken and veges aside as they were cooked.  By this point there was just enough liquid to cook the rice further.   There only remained a paste for the sauce, so i added a bit extra coconut milk and another spoon of brown sugar as it was very salty. still turned out very nice though tmrc_emoticons.)

Awesome dish! Officially our best meal cooked in the Thermomix to date!  I did follow the comment and put the rice in from the start (step 2) and that was definitely for the best.

  • The rice needs to be put on

    Submitted by zeeb75 on 27. April 2015 - 22:06.

The rice needs to be put on in step 2 as it definitely needs another 10 mins of cooking time. Kids loved it (made without chilli), and I added a bit more water at the end so the sauce wasn't as strong.

    Submitted by Michell on 13. January 2015 - 21:10.

Everyone really liked this dish. I agree the sauce is a little strong, but in a really good way! I had to cook my rice for about 10 mins longer. I used bok choy, red capsicum, carrot and broccoli and they worked great together. Thank you for sharing  tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by mellie_001 on 22. September 2014 - 18:52.

My husband has for the first time, enjoyed a thermi meal.. I have been trying for months... I made some small tweaks for the ingredients on hand, but it was excellent.. Sauce was a bit strong by the end, but i had to cook for an extra ten mins, so i will water down a bit more next time... Loved it.. Thanks for making my hubby appreciate the thermi FINALLY...
