Recipe's preparation

    Chinese Beef
  1. Trim fat from meat , flatten well with a mallet and cut into 5 cms squares.

Put in a bowl with soy sauce, salt, pepper, curry, ginger, bi-carb. soda, sugar, oil and sherry. Marinade for at least 2 hrs. or overnight. Bring to room temperature before cooking.

Place 700gms. of water in TM bowl with vegie stock and extra sherry, soy sauce and sugar.

Place 1 cup or washed rice in basket and put in TM bowl

Place prepared vegetables in Varoma base and marinated meat on Varoma tray.

Cook at Varoma temperature for 20 mins and speed4

At the end of this time check meat and vegetables are cooked and place in a Thermoserver or serving dish.

Remove rice from basket and place in Thermoserver or serving dish.

There should only be a little liquid in the TM bowl from cooking rice so add additional water and cornflour to this to make the sauce.

Cook for a further 2 mins. at Varoma temperature.

Season or add additional sauces as taste requires. Drizzle over meat and vegies.

Serve rice into bowls and top with meat and vegetables.

You can vary  or increase the vegatables to include broccolini, snow peas, green beans etc.

This was delicious! kids loved it too. I used 1 and 1/2 cups of rice and 740g water. At the end I put a heaped tablespoon of cornflour and varoma 2min speed 4 and was lovely and thick but still able to Pour. It's going to be one of our thermie "take away style " dinner favourites! I didn't have veggie stock either so used a tbsp of vegeta. Great dish

There are no amounts for the additional water & cornflour in the recipe. I'm assuming 1 teaspoon of cornflour, but I'm unsure how much extra water to put in?
