Recipe's preparation

    Crispy Crumb Coating
  1. Place bread, paprkia and oregano into Thermomix jug and mill for 10 seconds / speed 9 to get breadcrumbs. Add sesame seeds and mix to combine for 5 seconds / speed 5.

Set aside 1/4 of the crumbs to use for burgers and spread the remaining 3/4 of the mix onto a lined baking tray and grill until crispy (should only take about 3 minutes on "grill" setting).  Watch closely and stir once or twice to grill all the crumbs.

  2. Burger Patties
  3. Place onion, garlic and parsely into jug and chop for 5 seconds / speed 6. Place chicken into jug and Closed lid / turbo / 2-5 seconds to mince.  If you find it isn't mincing, remove half the chicken and mince in two batches. Add spices, egg and breadcrumbs and mix to combine for 6 seconds / speed 5.

Shape into burger patties, placing a small piece of cheese in the centre of each burger. Make sure the cheese is covered by the burger or it will stick when cooking. Spread crispy crumb onto a plate and coat each pattie, pressing down slightly to get a good covering of crumb.

Grill on the bbq until cooked through (roughly 10 minutes).

This such a great & easy to make.   This is a great base to add additional flavours which you desire.  instead of a chunk of cheese I grated the chees & added to the mixture which eliminates the chances of the cheese not melting.  I also added chilli sauce but again it depends on your taste.

Will certainly be making these again

Made these last night, they were nice but i think a little more flavour in the crumbs would be good. I like the cheese in the middle and we just had a salad on the side. We don't have a bbq so we just put them in the grill.

  • The patties were great

    Submitted by markgsmith01 on 27. July 2014 - 20:28.

The patties were great although I'd add more herbs and spices (in the crumbs and meat) next time to give it more punch. I might have toned it down a bit to make sure the kids weren't turned off. The patties were so moist and light but had no problems holding their shape and the cheese. The crumbs were great thanks to the toasting beforehand. It added a great crunch. Will be using this recipe again.

Just had these for dinner, a definite new family favourite. My twins are fussy meat eaters and I've never seen them eat dinner so quickly.

  • These patties are delicious.

    Submitted by Tookie322 on 4. April 2014 - 23:02.

These patties are delicious. I didn't have garlic and onion powder so I added 2 small chillies. I used a hard tasty cheese and was disappointed it didn't melt. I oven baked them. They were a real hit.

I served them with the Beetroot Salad on a bed of spinach leaves topped with feta cheese (from the Everyday Cookbook pg8tmrc_emoticons.8)

I will definitely be making them again.
