Very tasty! I cooked rice instead of potato - will definitely be making again :)

everyone loved it!!!

It really depends on the sausages you use. Precooking (especially if you line the tray of the Varoma with damp baking paper) can help you keep some of the sausage fat out. Also I found the sausages stayed together better if they were pre-cooked.

Made this for dinner, was easy and tasty. A new favourite for the menu in our home. We halved the sugar and the worchershire sauce and it still tasted great. Thanks for sharing Smile

Super easy and yummy dinner!

I halved the sugar, used 3tbs of worcestershire sauce, and used 1tsp of mustard powder as I didn't have any mustard. I also used a pink lady apple and added some veggies in. Husband loved it!  Smile

My kids love this recipe, constantly ask me to put it on the menu!!!

This is a winner in our house, and no packet mix in sight :)  Thank you!

Tried this with a bit of a twist - added baked beans for extra fibre, and cooked on 100 degrees for 3 mins at speed 2 - just to finish off.  Kids loved it!  Will def make again!

What a winner - this is going into our rotation! Next time I'll try to use 1/2 the amount of sugar and there was plenty of sauce so might increase the sausages as I'd imagine the leftovers would be pretty good too!

Great recipe - thanks for posting. I used half of the worchestershire as recommended, and will probably use some sultanas next time. Flavour was great and there were no leftovers! That is a win for our family! Will definately cook this again. Smile

519 Gentle stir settingThis tastes amazing and I followed a recommendation to halve the worchestire sauce. We'll definitely be making this again!  Cooking

Really enjoyed this! My husband made it last night for the family. While the sausages and potato where cooking, he also steamed carrot, sweet potato and broccoli and we just mixed it all together. So yummy and tasty.

My sausages turned to complete mush.  Will try again tomorrow using the basket instead.  Lucky I bought lots of sausages!!!

chels lange when cuting the sausages cut them really chunky, as yes they can go mushy. also u could put them in the simmerng basket instead once you have taken the potatoes out. Hope this helps.

Awesome thanks. knew it was a hit when my visiting fussy eaters polished it off. Halved the worchershire sauce. May even reduce sugar next time.

A family favourite!  I always hand chop the apple as we like it chunky.  We love it with rice instead of potato.  Thank you.  This was actually the first recipe I did in my Thermomix when I purchased and it turned out perfectly.

Hello, I'm just wondering why you have to precook the sausages, can't they just cook in the juices like other dishes or do they fall apart?

Yum! I love the amount of sauce that goes with it as well as the slight crunch from the apple

Made it for dinner tonight and it was delicious and so quick and easy for Sunday Night. It will be a regular. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for an easy meal the whole family loves. i didn't have a green apple, so left that out. Served with steamed beans, broccoli and carrots.

loved by my toddler and the hubby, but it was a bit sweet for me, I will omit the sugar next time!

I also steamed carrots at the same time as the sausages and added them in!

We love this and make it all the time. Usually we make it with left over BBQ sausages which I just add to the sauce in the thermo serve bowl and then make mash potato to go with it. Kiddies love it

Have made this heaps of times and it never disappoints. Yum! Love that it is an all-in-one recipe incorporating the mash potato into the cooking. Thanks!

Hi Melinda,

I loved this dish, hubby n kids thought it was a bit spicy so I may use less worcestershire sauce next time.

Delicious! My husband and I have found that sometimes mains meals done in the TM can lack a bit of flavour, but not this one! We varied the recipe to suit our tastes by adding an extra onion & garlic clove, using 1 less TBSP worcetershire, only half a TSP sugar, 50g less water, and cooked sweet potato and potato mash and this dish was BEAUTIFUL and made plenty for left overs!

Great recipe thanks Melinda. A real family pleaser  Smile

First time I made this the sausages got a bit diced despite being on reverse . Tried again next time using reverse speed soft (instead of 1)  which was much better .

Yum, thanks. I made this tonight - only the second meal that I have made in the Thermo and it was delish. I think I will also reduce the sugar next time and I didn't have any English mustard, I only had Dijon, so I think it will be even better  with the proper  mustard.

I took on board the previous comments about the sausages going to mush and decided to use the basket to finish them off to stop them getting chopped up.

daughter questioned me as to why i was putting apple in dinner and said it will taste weird - cooked it and served it up and after a few bites she was all for apple in anything lol thanks for sharing

I have made this a few times and we love it but I find the flavours a bit strong and sweet. This time I halved all the condiments (Tom paste, worchestershire, mustard, soy sce, sugar) and it came out perfectly to our tastes. I cook the sausages over water in the varoma first and finish them over the sauce (so they don't mush) and mix together in the thermoserver. Then I cook the rice/pasta.  I find the thought of raw sausage juice dripping into my potatoes/rice/pasta while cooking a bit yuk. But that is just me!!

Thanis for a great recipe base that we can all adapt to our own tastes.  Smile

I have made this 3 times now and each time the sausages completely smushed (technical term!).  Great flavour (with half the sugar) but the texture is really unappealing. Even when I told the kids 'it's mince, not sausages', they weren't impressed. And tonight I even used left-over fried sausages, which you'd think would be more firm than merely steamed. Perhaps next time I might make the sauce and just pour over the sausages to serve.
