This was a winner for us! Our kids are fussy eaters but once we managed to get them to taste it they ate the whole lot! I'll definitely be making this again... it reminded me of my mum's devilled sausages.

Will make again!

I cooked 6 potatoes in basket, some carrots in bottom of Varoma and 11 sausages in the top tray of Varoma.

After the first 20min cooking time I turned the snags then cooked for and extra 10 mins so veggies could be pierced nicely and sausages were firm to touch. Only used half the worcestershire and brown sugar as per previous comments. But once it was cooked it was too tangy for me so I added the other tablespoon of brown sugar. I also ended up mashing the potatoes in the thermoserver the traditional way while the sausages where cooking in the sauce. I was getting to hungry to wait lol.

absolutely beautiful! my partner has asked this dish become a permanant meal on our rotation

Yum...big hit in our home...have always used packet mix so this was much much better...thankyou!!

Delicious, kids polished it off mighty quickly! Thank you!!

Fabulous taste!!!  Reminds me of the ones Mum used to make us growing up.  Sausages came out pretty well mushed but maybe because hubby sliced  thinly, rather than a chunky slice.  None the less, tasted great and will make again!

If using thin sausages they'll cook most of th way through but remember they cook for another 10 minutes in the sauce Smile

Quick question, do you still count the cooking time from the word go, it took about 10 mins for the water to reach varoma temp, at the end of 20 mins the sausages weren't cooked.

Yum!!!! A few potatoes were still chunky and not mashed when I served, so probably need to give them a bit longer being mashed, maybe give them a stir and another 20-30 seconds.

The rest was awesome! Thanks

What type of potatos where you using as this can impact the result? I use the white potatoes as they are less waxy and I find they mash much better

Love this recipe, although i make a few changes. Once the potatoes are cooked i take them out & heat the milk (60g) 2min/90°/speed 4. Put in the butterfly then add the potatoes back in along with the butter (25g), 1/2 tsn stock and only do 10sec/speed 4 as i find if i use the method above for the mash it ends up glue-like. Then put back into the thermoserver and go on with the sauce which i halve the worcestershire sauce and reducing the water to 200g total as i find we have too much sauce even though we poor it over our veggies as well.

Hmmmm this was a winner. For some reason there wasnt enough steam to cook the sausages so i pan cooked them but that was no big deal. I added some vegies to varoma instead. Definetely a keeper. Very tasty and a winner all round . thank you

I think this is a much loved recipe.  Made it in record time last night.  So easy.  Needed to feed 8 people so had to use 2kg sausages so put the sausages in a dutch oven and poured the sauce over and baked. Made 3 times the sauce.  Fantastic flavour.  Did not need the mash.  4 fussy kids loved it and son-in-law got told off by his wife for eating too much!  I agree with other cooks - Maggi has lost a deviled sausages customer!!  This one fits the bill better.

Thank you,, very easy tasty

Yummy yummy yummy. Soo good.

Life is too short to drink cheap plonk

I will need to try this one again, the mustard was too strong and my sausages mushed, no idea why this happened I followed the recipe. Seeing all the positive comments I think it defiantly deserves another chance lol

my first mash was very glue like, this recipe I only mixed for 20 sec and it was lovely. Nice and smooth and creamy. Stopped it at 15 it was pretty good but just a bit lumpy. Try less time next time Smile

Nice recipe. Next time I will cook the onion, Apple mixture a few more minutes. I only used two Tbs of tomato paste and next time will add some tomato sauce as my memory of a devilled chicken I used to make and loved was that it had tomato sause. A good way to cook sausages.  It went well with couscous. Love

A favourite for all the family! Thankyou!! Smile

Lovely recipe.  Thank you for sharing.

The kids loved this! I halved the worchestershire sauce (2 tablespoons) and the sugar (1 tablespoon), but I still found it too sweet for my tastes, the addition of a tin of baked beans lessened the sweetness. I will omit the sugar altogether next time (and there will be a next time), and perhaps try using only 1 tablespoon of worchestershire sauce. We served it on mashed potato (the EDC recipe) the first sitting, and pasta and zoodles the second sitting, it makes a very large amount, but I did use 12 sausages as that was what I had. Thanks for sharing!

Great Flavours - I purposfuly cooked this the night before as it gives the sausages time to absorb the flavours.   Served it with Cauliflower rice - YUM.

Thanks for your flavoursome recipe. I had extra peeps so doubled the recipe & quantity was fine in TM bowl, just needed extra cooking time at each step. Look forward to making again  Smile

Worked perfectly in the TM5.  I didnt have worcestershire so used 3T balsamic vinegar instead and it still tasted great.  Thanks for sharing.

So GOOOOOD!!!! As a previous packet-sauce devilled sausages maker, I gave up the packets years ago, as I didn't like the ingredients. Tried this tonight for the family, and all bowls were licked clean!! Thanks for the brilliant recipe

This is delicious! After making devilled sausages using the packet sauces for a few years, we're never going back - how can we when my partner said this is the best devilled sausage recipe ever?

I used wholegrain mustard as it's what we had. I don't imagine it would have any poor effect on the taste of the dish & gave the sauce a bit of texture, too. I found the sauce a little too liquid for my liking (just a personal thing, my partner didn't mind at all), so will try adding some more cornflour next time.

Also wanted to say this is the first mashed potato that came out right first time for me - I've tried 3 or 4 times now with other receipes & they all turned out lumpy & liquidy; a very strange combination. I could only get larger potatoes, so used 4 instead of 5. I diced them small (approx 1/1.5cm cubes) rather than quartering them as I've found from previous recipes they seem to cook more & mash more thoroughly this way.

Lovely dinner I have made numerous times, love that it makes all the dinner with Veges added to the top veroma shelf. I always forget that is a time consuming meal compared to my usual 20 min meals. Thank you for sharing

Excellent dish. I have never made this before in any shape or form, so it was a nice surprise! I made it with rice instead of potato.

Definately a keeper.  I used half sugar but still too sweet so put a bit of vinegar to counteract.  Next time will use quarter sugar or put in some cannellini beans or similiar.  The potatoe was lumpy but corrected by removing the butterfly and 10 secs speed 4.  Voila! Smile

Thanks for such a lovely recipe. Have made this a number of times, the kids love it. l add sultanas when l add the sausages back in.

A huge hit with my family and definitely a regular on the menu!
