Tip

Reserve some of the coconut water leftover from steaming the rice, and add to the sauce if a thinner consistency is required.

Chunkier veggies can be steamed with the varoma and mixed in with the satay in the last few minutes of cooking.

Omg this is the bomb! Hubby and I both had seconds and the kids loved it, too. Will be putting this onto regular rotation. I made it exactly as per the recipe but did the beef in a frypan and used broccolini.

dinazaitman: Sorry to hear that.... there is only 125g of liquid in the form of coconut cream in the satay with 80g of thick sauces added so I am not sure how you managed to end up with a "peanut butter and beef stew"? Did you use coconut milk rather than cream? that is the only reason I can think of that would result in an overly runny satay..

This way this recipe looked is very different to the picture. Ours looked like a peanut butter and beef stew. Not good at all. Not sure what we did wrong?

Such a great and easy recipe! Absolutely love the sauce. We cook the meat in a fry pan (personal preference of my husband). We also cook about 250g of rice for 4 adults (usually still leftovers) and increase the amount of veggies used for a healthier option!

BusyBeeMom: It is actually varoma temp,(although I think 100 degrees would work fine too) as you heat the oil to this temp and then add the beef for 2mins. Apologies for not making this clear, I will add a note into the steps.

This was lovely. My husband and I both enjoyed it. I have only had my thermo 2 weeks, and found the directions a bit daunting , but managed it. I didnt have coconut milk, so used evaporated milk with some coconut liquid flavouring ( queens brand) . Husband said we will make it again, TY.

I have had this dish on a list of dishes to cook for ages... I finally did and am so annoyed I didn't try it earlier!!!! It was absolutely delicious. Great flavours and nice and easy! Will definitely be making it a regular. Side note - I used brocolini instead of bok choy to use what was in fridge and it worked a treat!
