Tip

You can add whatever veggies you like, just keep them about the same size. Remember that softer veggies take less time to cook. And the kids even ate all their dinner!!! winner...

wenren21: Hello! Unfortunately the type of rice grain you use does matter. It's like trying to make risotto with long grain rice, it just won't hold it's texture. Give medium grain rice or Aborio rice a go and see what you think.

Used lamb loin chops this time and didn't have any celery. Sauce still turned out yummy. Has become a regular meal in our house.

Love this, thank you.  the cutlets were tender but could reduce the cooking time as they are rested for a bit.  The sauce, yum yum.  Would it be wrong to use this as a soup

  • Cooking time was way too

    Submitted by ReneTM5 on 29. January 2015 - 17:31.

Cooking time was way too long. I cut the hard veges quite large and even they were very soft. I didn't have any lamb cutlets so used rump steaks which were very thick and they didnt need to be cooked that long so I could imagine the cutlets being way over-cooked. I personally didn't like the taste of steamed red meat so will cook on the grill in future. The sauce was nice, I used arrowroot flour to thicken as I am paleo. The sauce is double what we needed so plenty for another meal.

  • Really enjoyed this recipe -

    Submitted by Mypatrol on 10. December 2014 - 15:09.

Really enjoyed this recipe - an easy way to cook "meat & 3 veg". I had lamb loin chops & managed to fit 8 comfortably in the varoma - I did slightly brown them off at the end as I already had the fry pan out. May possibly reduce the cook time a bit next time to leave slightly rare as they were well cooked. Family loved the sauce. Will definitley make this again. Thankstmrc_emoticons.)

  • my kids loved this. I did

    Submitted by Love2create on 29. October 2014 - 09:03.

my kids loved this. I did with chicken & I probably cut the chicken breast too small as it was a little dry. But the sauce was just the best. My kids are so much there was none left for dad!!

    Submitted by allykatblue on 19. October 2014 - 22:52.

I don't often come across meat and three veg ideas for the thermomix. This was great except that someone forgot to take out the MC LOL, everything cooked ok despite it though!

  • This is Master 10's favourite

    Submitted by mflaye on 27. August 2014 - 08:08.

This is Master 10's favourite meal.  He loves the vegetable sauce and can easily cut the meat from the cutlet.  I have also used other cuts of lamb for this meal - just made sure I trimmed all visable fat from the meat first.

Submitted by Wendy Farrelly on 22. April 2014 - 13:27.

Great recipe, quick & easy. Lamb leg steaks worked well & very tender. Vegetables cooked perfectly and sauce had a great flavour. Definitely, will do this again. I didn't brown the meat and still so good. Could use this on the road without a stove!

  • I like how the meat turned

    Submitted by Louisa1979 on 19. April 2014 - 19:43.

I like how the meat turned out. I did some steamed and then browned, the others fried and I much preferred the meat from the Varoma. The sauce was gorgeous and the vegies cooked really nicely. I recommend giving this recipe a try.

Really simple. Tasty veggies and sauce. Will definitely try again, but might reduce the time I cook the meat. We used loin chops and they were a little dry. Great way to use the varoma.

  • I'd probably call it a sauce

    Submitted by Cdw on 3. February 2014 - 19:51.

I'd probably call it a sauce rather than a gravy, but I thought it was delicious. Would be good for people with kids.
