Recipe's preparation

  1. place garlic, ginger (if using) in tmx bowl along with roughly chopped onion, zucchini, celery and carrot. Chop 3 sec speed 5 and set aside.

heat empty bowl for 1 min or so until it reaches 100deg. Add in oil and mince and cook 3-5 mins varoma temp reverse speed 1 til mince is browned.

add in previously chopped vegies, curry powder to taste, sherry, rice, stock, oyster and soy sauces. Cook for 10 mins 100deg reverse speed 1.

PLace mixture into thermoserver for 5-10 mins so that rice and cabbage can finish softening and liquid is a bit more absorbed.

Serve with toast, buttered bread or in bowl with some sweet chilli sauce on top. Yummy tmrc_emoticons.)

I really wanted to like this as a simple, economical meal, but it missed the mark for me sadly.

Not quite robust enough to eat as a dish on its own, too wet to just have on toast (as suggested - I tried, even after letting sit in the Thermoserver for ages).

Maybe best for mums with young kids to try to sneak some veggies in - wondering if it might work best over some pre-cooked two minute noodles or something.

Great recipe. 4 year old loved it. I added extra ingredients so I could have some leftovers. Used vege stock paste and water instead of chicken stock and tasted great.

Mine turned out a little watery, but overall, very yummy! Also, wasn't sure how much oil to add!

  • I added a few extra veggies

I added a few extra veggies to bulk it up for my big family and stamed the cabbage in the varoma while the meat was cooking and then mixed all together in a big bowl before serving.

  • I used chicken mince because

    Submitted by CaityBaileyW on 28. November 2013 - 17:03.

I used chicken mince because I already had some, and it was great. Mine was also a bit watery - I would reduce the water further next time. Will be making again though - really enjoyed it.

  • This worked really well,

    Submitted by ehesvagyok on 5. December 2012 - 22:12.

This worked really well, thank you. I used hand chopped bok choy and choy sum (instead of cabbage) added just for a few minutes at the end. Amount of liquid after sitting in thermoserver (for over 30 mns) was negligible (just right). Also added fresh chopped chilli during heating of oil at begining of process.

    Soft

  • Doesn't say how much oil? I

    Submitted by danni06 on 16. September 2012 - 21:04.

Doesn't say how much oil? I used about 20mls. I think it needs less liquid I left it for 10 mins in the thermoserver and it was still swimming in liquid good flavour though but does needs salt and pepper and the sweet chilli sauce tmrc_emoticons.)
