Recipe's preparation
Place basil, mint & coriander into TM bowl. Chop 2 secs., sp.6. set aside.
Pour stock, sugar, fish sauce & 400 mls water into Tm Bowl.
Place ginger, onion, garlic, star anise & cinnamon into the rice basket. Place into the TM bowl.
Cook for 20 mins, 100 degrees, sp.3.
While stock is cooking, prepare noodles according to the packet instructions. Drain well (Varoma bowl is good for this ! )
Divide noodles among warmed bowls, then top with the very thinly sliced beef. (yes it is still raw - the hot stock will cook it)
Using the spatula, remove the rice basket. (the onion, and spices are now discarded).
Pour the hot stock into the bowls over the beef and noodles.
Top with the bean sprots.
Serve garnished with generous amounts of the chopped herbs, a little chilli and a wedge of lime.

Tip
Sliced snow peas are a great addition to this Pho dish. As is shredded Bok Choy to add some extra bulk.

Soooo yummy! I tweaked this for what i had but used as an overall idea to do. Used prawns instead of beef and thermo veg stocked mixed with water instead of liquid stock.

Hubby loves his pho and was really happy with this.
I used 1ltr Campbell's Chicken stock and 250ml beef as I had them in the pantry and this combo worked really well and I will continue on with this combo in future.

How has no one bought up that the method says 'add garlic' and there is no garlic in the ingredients list. I added two cloves crushed for good measure.
It is a tasty recipie for when you dont have the time to make the full, longer version. I prefer my corriander and mint just ripped up ontop of the broth instead of minced.

totally easy to make and tasty as. Of course it's not as good as traditional Vietnamese pho but it's pretty close! This will be a staple in my house thanks for sharing! ☺️

Great flavour though I never had most of the ingredients. Used stock cubes instead of real stock and added carrots broccoli mushrooms and snow peas into the Varoma with Hokies noodles on the top level of the Varoma. Worked a treat. Looking forward to cooking this again with the herbs and some real beef bone stock. Yum!

OMG this is amazing! The broth is delicious, I have made a second batch just to have on its own! Will be making this again and again!
I should add that I only used 1 star anise and I used sizzle steak
Great recipe, very realistic
Great recipe, very realistic taste. I made it vegetarian by using veggie stock and subsituting fried tofu puffs and squash for the meat. I also didnt have any coriander but I made do with basil and mint. The star anise was a little strong for my taste so maybe I will use 2 stars instead of 3 the next time.

Really loved this, simple and
Really loved this, simple and full of flavour, for sides in little bowls we had chives, coriander, chilli, spring onions, bean sprouts, bok choy, wombok, basil, lime wedges, water chestnuts, all chopped up so diners could add their own selection.
a total hit with the whole family, thank you for sharing, the ginger etc in the steamer basket was a great tip

This was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!! I wanted a chicken pho, so subbed the beef for chicken and used my TMX vegie stock concentrate instead of beef stock. I didn't trust the chicken to cook just from the boiling broth at the end, so I added the thinly sliced pieces to the broth with 8 minutes to go and turned the speed down to 1. It was sooooooo delicious! I think it tasted even better than the ones I've had at the restaurants!!

Fantastic. I added fresh
Fantastic. I added fresh herbs at the end rather than the beginning bit too. I also added an extra piece of star anise. Wonderful full flavoured stock in no time at all.
So good! I didnt do the herb
So good! I didnt do the herb part at the begining, but added the leaves at end ( bit like restaurants do) and loved it, will make again soon. DH loved it too!
