Chicken

  • 1200 grams Small Whole Chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch Fresh Lemon thyme
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oli
  • to taste Lemon Juice, salt & pepper to taste

Recipe's preparation

    Herb coating for chicken (optional)
  1. 1. Chop garlic cloves, lemon thyme 5 sec/ Sp5, set aside in small bowl

    2. With Garlic and Lemon Thyme, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper

    3. Rub mixture onto whole chicken

  2. Steamed Chicken
  3. 1. Weigh in 1000g (1L) cold water into Thermomix Bowl.

    2. Put chicken in Varoma Dish (leave varoma Tray out) and put Varoma Lid on top

    3. Steam chicken for 43min / Varoma Temp / Sp2

    4. Enjoy!

    I use this recipe all the time - steam it for 50-60 mins depending on size of chicken - moist juicy chicken every time plus the added bonus of having 1 litre of chicken stock. Grill the chicken under the grill for a few mins if you want a crispy skin

    It was a nice recipe, however the skin wasn't crispy and gross. I did cook it for another 10 mins and it was perfectly  cooked... Perfect with the beetroot salad in the basic cookbook, for a chicken beetroot salad.
