Varoma and Steaming Basket

  • 8 chicken or beef sausages
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, more or less to taste
  • 5 potatoes, cubed, (I don't peel)
  • 2 carrots, sliced thinly, (I don't peel)
  • 1000 g water
  • 4 broccoli florets
  • 2 corn on cobs, cut in quarters

Recipe's preparation

    Varoma and Simmering Basket
  1. Place Sausages in top tray of Varoma

    Place Corn, Carrots and Broccoli florets in Varoma

    Place Potatoes in Simmering Basket

    Put 1 Litre of Water in TM Bowl and put simmering basket and Varoma in place

    Set Timer for 35 mins at speed 2 on Varoma Temperature

  2. Mash
  3. Once Steamed in simmering basket empty water from TM Bowl and tip potatoes in TM Bowl

    Add butter and Mix on speed 5 for 10 seconds (vary speed depending on how smooth you like your mash)

    This is a regular, thank you. I usually do 16 sausages; I just put the ones that don't fit crosswise on top of the others. Cauliflower is a good vegetable to substitute, and I do sweet potato instead or as well as regular potato. Didn't have enough potatoes today so put some green beans in the basket as well, turned out nicely. I don't worry about mashing the potatoes.

    Cooked this tonight for the family. Sausages and veg were a hit! I'll be cooking this again. I also cooked up some onions in a pan and made an onion gravy to go with it, just topped it off! Perfect

    Made this tonight. Sausages cooked well however the mash was way too runny! I have no idea what went wrong there! There was no liquid in the mash at all!

    i cooked this last night, my first use of the varoma

    i only made one adjustment and that was to use 1 cup of the water from the tm bowl before i put the potatos in and mixed some gravox in it.
