Lental Tart

Ingredients

8 slice(s)

Pastry

  • 25 g rice
  • 170 g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 110 g Butter
  • 50 g water

Filling

  • 1 onion
  • 175 g red lentils
  • 550 g Milk
  • half teaspoon ground mace
  • 3 pinch chilli powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 50 g Chedder cheese
  • paprika to sprinkle

Recipe's preparation

    Pastry
  1. Prepare pastry by putting the rice in the TM bowl and mill for 1 mintue on speed 9.

  2. Add salt and flour and stir for 5 seconds on speed 4.

  3. Add butter chopped and water, mix for 30 seconds with the lid locked on knead function.

  4. Press into a flan tin and refrigerate.

  5. Filling
  6. Quarter onion and chop for 3 seconds on speed 7.

  7. Add milk and lentils and cook for 60 minutes, at 90 degress, reverse speed 2 with the MC removed. Check the mixture is thick and the lentils are cooked.

  8. Add ground mace, chilli powder and salt and stir for 30 seconds, reverse on speed 2. Leave to cool.

  9. Once cool add whisked egg then spoon the mixture into the chilled pastry case.

  10. Grate chedder cheese for 10 seconds on speed 9.

  11. Sprinkle the cheese over the tart, then sprinkle the paprika.

  12. Place into the preheated oven (190 degrees) and cook for 35-45 minutes or until the filling has set.

  13. Remove the tart from the oven - then enjoy!
