I loved this recipe even though the kids weren't quite so keen on the meatballs. I only had 60g walnuts and used 40g cashews. I would process the nuts and oats a little more for a finer result. I used 2 celery stalks in the sauce and it was delicious. I cooked the meatballs (1 tbsp size) in the Varoma while the sauce was cooking but finished them off in the frypan for colour and a little more flavour before adding the sauce to the pan for about 5 minutes prior to serving.

Jennae: I've not tried these yet, but the meatballs are quite similar to the vegetarian sausage roll recipe (which I make often). That mixture is quite funny too but it often helps to put the mixture in the fridge for a while. That allows the oates to absorb the liquid.

Ummm not sure why the ball mixture was so sloppy. I added arrowroot flour to thicken.
It was still not great. I followed recipe to the Tee. Maybe would be better with using one egg next time?
How many celery stalks do people use?

What a pleasent surprise !
What a pleasent surprise ! Awesome meal that the whole family really loved and they had no idea what was in the 'meatballs'. Don't hesitate to make as they are really delicious. Thankyou for a fantatic recipe...
Note - I did find the 'meatball' mixture to be quiet wet and a little difficult to roll; I just dusted hands with a little flour, made rough balls and dropped in small amount of oil - this did not affect the final result...Yummy.
Do you think the meatballs
Do you think the meatballs could be baked? And could you freeze the balls, before baking? I also wonder if they could be cooked in the little steamer basket (with the sauce in the bowl) to keep them intact.

Hi everyone!
I forgot to add the 'tip' that the 'meatballs' should be made first, then you can cook the sauce while you fry up the balls
Enjoy!
