I had no quinoa flakes so used oats. Used gluten free flour instead of almond meal. I had no guar gum and didnt replace it with anything. Had no dates so used prunes and saltanas and had no coconut sugar so used white sugar. After all of the changes it still worked out greattmrc_emoticons.)

  • These were pretty tasty!  I

    Submitted by zoelids on 29. September 2016 - 15:00.

These were pretty tasty!  I think I found them just a little too oily for my liking.  I used a TBSP to measure them out but didnt flatten them so they had a bit of a different texture to what I was expecting.  That's no reflection on your recipe though...  Next time I think I'll decrease the coconut oil & see how that goes

  • Loved these...first bickies

    Submitted by claire.cebu on 25. April 2016 - 10:14.

Loved these...first bickies made in my new Thermie with my 6 year old. I replaced the Guar gum with ground chia seeds, worked fine.  I made mine smaller and thicker so needed a little more cooking.  Will flatten them out a bit more next time.

    Very yummy!

(Thumb up from my hubby means a hell lot, as he isnt too pleased with sugar free deserts.)

Delicious biscuits. Only added 100gms of oil...perfect nd I used xanthem gum. Because I like my biscuits all the same size, I used a melon baller and flattened the. Only took 6 miutes to cook and made 38 snack size. Yum!

  • These were lovely.   I used

    Submitted by Chokolart on 24. April 2016 - 14:14.

These were lovely.   I used chia seeds in place of the gum and only 90g oil as per the other comments, ( think I'd use even less next time)  and shredded coconut,  baked for 15 mins.  The flavour is lovely and just like an anzac. Enjoyed by all and will definitely make again

  • Very yummy! My coeliac

    Submitted by agilfoyle on 23. April 2016 - 15:34.

Very yummy! My coeliac husband was very appreciative. I used xantham gum instead of guar gum, 60g caster sugar to replace coconut sugar and reduced the oil to around 90g. I also need to cook for 15minutes. Will definitely make again.

    Submitted by JJones2101 on 6. May 2015 - 14:18.

I also used xanthem gum instead of guar gum and would reduce oil next time as they were quite oily. Super yummy though thank you!!

I must remember to mill my almonds first next time though!

    Submitted by Pocockle on 25. April 2015 - 13:17.

These are delicious! I had no guar gum so used chia as suggested in the comments but mine turned out quite soft, might try less bicarb soda and maybe less oil next time too. Wasn't sure they were going to taste like Anzacs after reading the ingredients but they definitely did tmrc_emoticons.)

Delicious but bit oily. I will use 100ml oil next time. Also I subbed Guar gum with xanthum gum and it was fine. Reduced almond meal by half and replaced with oats. yum.

  • These are great tasting

    Submitted by Tresol007 on 29. November 2014 - 14:05.

These are great tasting cookies and a healthier alternative to the traditional Anzac recipe.  I'm glad quinoa tastes much better baked than it looks and smells uncooked! Haha. Mine needed to sit for about 15 minutes after the oven to firm up enough before moving onto the wire rack. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

  • I made these as I am doing

    Submitted by AmyFarmer on 8. September 2014 - 15:23.

I made these as I am doing sugar-free Sept and was visiting a friend who is gluten and dairy free. I had to research a guar gum alternative and found that I could use the equivalent amount of chia seeds instead. It still worked really well and they were yummy. Will probably make them again with oats for my family as I love the traditionally chunkiness of oats but a great alternative for those who are gluten free and a great sugar free recipe! Thank you.

Going sugar free this September so went looking for a sugar free treat. This is awesome! So much like regular anzac buscuits but SO much better for the family. Thanks! (Ps, didn't have quinoa so used regular oats)
