Wonderful to see this on the sight.  I cut down the milk a shade when i make it,  makes it more like my Yia yia's version.  I'm sure you understand  Wink.

Fantastic best rice pudding

4

Fantastic best rice pudding recipe in my hands compared to my other attempts. My kids loved it. Not too sweet so a great snack. I had to add another tablespoon cornflour (used the measuring cup to estimate 5 tablespoons=100mls) so ended up with 6 tablespoons to avoid it being too runny.  Thanks.

Tks for that.  I think I'll stick with the ordinary rice.  Unless one is pretty darned good, it's always best to follow the recipe, I have found.

I'm not sure.  I've never tried as arborio tends to become very thick and sometimes gluggy but you're more than welcome to try and let me know how you go.  It might be just the tweak to perfect the recipe.  Perfection usually comes from trial and error. Smile

Can I use arborio rice for this please?

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback Helen! I will definitely add more cornflour next time. Maybe my tablespoons were on the meagre side. x

Hi Katy, it sounds like it

Hi Katy, it sounds like it wasn't thick enough. Did you use the cornflour to thicken at the end? Sometimes, depending on whether you are using an actual tablespoon measurement or just your ordinary tablespoon, it may need more.  I haven't converted the tbsp to grams which I should do but if you can see it doesn't thicken up straight away while adding the cornflour, just mix up another 2 tablespoons with cold water and add that.  That will definitely do the trick.  Hope all goes well.

What did I do wrong? Mine

What did I do wrong? Mine just came out as hot milk with rice at the bottom. Are the quantities correct? x Katy.

Have tweaked and updated the recipe guys!  My mum always tweaks as she goes. Smile

Greeks tend to use the 1.5 setting even though it doesn't really exist but I'm too scared to change it as it works wonderfully with this recipe.

When I was growing up, rice

When I was growing up, rice pudding was a family favourite, but ours was baked and we used nutmeg on the top instead of cinnamon, as you have.  I look forward to trying your version.  Maybe I'll meet you in Hawaii and tell you about how it turned out personally!  Wink
