This is the first thing I made with my Thermomix. It is an excellent stock & have used itin a few dishes now. My daughter took some to use in her soup she made. Thumbs up here!

I loved this vegie stock. Keeps for ages! I also used some vegie scraps from other meals to reduce wastage, such as carrot peelings.

Can I just halve all the ingredients in this recipe? It makes too much for two of us and prefer not to freeze it. Thanks Kerry

    Submitted by reeen on 11. May 2016 - 09:47.

Our consultant told us that you can leave the salt out to freeze it. The amount of salt on the recipe means you can store it for up to 6 months. If you half the salt amount, you can store it for 3 months. It will not freeze if you add the full amount of salt in.

  • Great little post to help me

    Submitted by estiny on 14. July 2015 - 20:39.

Great little post to help me remember what to buy while I am out and about so thank you for taking the time out to post this recipe. The vegetable stock concentrate is the bane of most Thermomix recipes and probably the first thing any new owner has cooked. It just lifts every stew, pasta sauce and soup to the next level!

Do you have to use rock salt or will sea salt do? Also, how long can you expect it to store with 150g of salt?

  • I use half the salt when I

    Submitted by yesplease72 on 2. March 2013 - 09:15.

I use half the salt when I make it and it's still salty enough. Just have to remember it won't last as long - but I go through it pretty quickly anyway.

emale - throw in all the vegetables and chop 10 sec speed 6, add salt and oil and cook for 20 min Varoma temp speed 1. Pulverise for 1 min speed 9. I'd encourage you to grab the Everday Cook book (EDC). It really sets you on your way with the TM (no - I am not a seller of such things tmrc_emoticons.-) ...... just a satisfied customer).
