Recipe's preparation

  1.

    1. Place rice into basket and rinse. Add water to TM bowl and insert basket.

    2. Place sausages in varoma bowl and tray, Set varoma into position and cook for 10-15 minutes at Varoma Temp on speed 4.

    3. Remove varoma  and rice  basket and place rice into Thermoserver. Set aside sausages to cool slightly (I leave them sitting in the varoma)

    4. Drain water and add garlic and onion to bowl and chop for 5 seconds at speed 5.

    5. Add sliced apple, carrots and celery to the bowl, then add oil and curry powder and sauté 100°c  for 5 minutes on reverse + speed soft.

    7. Remove skins from sausages. Slice into rings or if desired small fingers.

    8. Add sausages to the curry mix. Stir 1 minute on reverse at speed 1 to coat sausages in curry mix.

    9. Add stock, water and tomatoes to bowl. Cook with MC out for 5 minutes at 100° on reverse + soft speed until slightly thickened.

    10. Add peas and sultanas. Cook a further 10 minutes at 100° on reverse + soft speed until thickened and peas are heated through.

    11. Serve with rice or naan bread or mashed potato and steamed vegies.

Curried sausages were yummy.. I added two tablespoons of curry powder , next time I will decrease it to with 1 or 1.5 tablespoon... I don't really like it too spicy but it has to be tasty.  Recommend this one.

For the People with some meat eaters and some vegetarians, if you keep the sausages out, and just cut them up and add to those that want them, its definitely a quick, easy, yum meal.

Winner, loved this recipe, thank you!  I used chicken stock paste (that's what I had in the fridge), chopped the vegetables in Thermie and not by hand and added shredded coconut when I added the peas and sultanas. I used thin sausages and had to cook the rice for an extra 10 minutes. Very tasty, will be making this again.  tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by Rari_TM on 18. March 2014 - 15:50.

Hi. I plan on making this tomorrow night. I have a kg of sausages and would like to use them all and freeze leftovers. I noticed that the original reciepe said that the TM is filled to capacity so don't double ingredients but that other people have said that they have doubled? Did this work? Sorry, a little confused!! I will be having it with left over mash so won't be cooking rice. Thanks!

Thank you youngone  tmrc_emoticons.) I have amended the recipe and included the water!. The recipe is meant to be fairly watery for a couple of reasons. One is to stop your sausages mashing up and the second so you have sauce for your rice. Did you leave the MC off to help it thicken

    Submitted by smakin on 4. February 2013 - 21:16.

Thanks Faffa... We all thoroughly enjoyed this meal... Only trouble I had was, I had to repeat the 10 mins cooking time 3 times until the carrots were cooked.. I took Juzzy's advice & cut the carrots very fine as well, so not sure why it took so long, especially if yours was ok after just 10 mins... Nevermind, they were so tasty... Will definitely be cooking these again... Thanks

  • This was really nice however

    Submitted by smudgefergs on 15. October 2012 - 12:24.

This was really nice however I cooked mashed potato instead of rice and as I wasn't sure if I could cook potatoes on varoma the sausages didn't cook. I actually have two thermomix's thank goodness ( feed up to 13 people)  and even using two I struggled. In the end I put finished potato in server, reheated water to finish steaming sausages , did the gravy in the other thermo then threw sausages and gravy into a big casserole pot to mix up. Was really yummy I thought.  tmrc_emoticons.) took me a lt longer than I anticipated .

    Submitted by Jess on 4. June 2012 - 19:54.

tmrc_emoticons.) Yummy!  I had no tomatoes so i just added an extra teaspoon of stock a table spoon of tomato paste(that's all I had left too!) and the rest just water.

    I added brocolli too.

I filled the steamer basket with potatoes and steamed for 15 mins varoma, and then mashed them on sp 5 for 5 seconds or so, with a splash of milk and a knob of butter.

My son grilled the snags, while Thermie did her work.

    Yummy  Thanks for the recipe!

  • Hi, I made this tonight and

    Submitted by youngone56 on 10. January 2012 - 23:09.

    Hi,

I made this tonight and it was quite nice.  I wouldn't rave over it necessarily, but it was pretty good.  A couple of things though...the recipe calls for 1 cup of water, but there is no indication of when this should be included.  When I realised, part way through Step 9,  I added the water a couple of minutes after the stock powder, and I didn't use a full cup of water.  I felt the result was too watery then tho.  I quickly added a couple of tablespoons of flour to try and thicken the sauce up and boosted the speed to around 3 and temp 100 for a few extra minutes, and it was OK...still a bit thin for my liking.

The rice turned out nice, however again, I probably would suggest 15 to 17 minutes for the rice.  There wasn't alot of rice cooked in this recipe either....probably enough for three serves as per the photo I have added to this.

Faffa, does my photo do your dish justice? Is this how you find it turns out?  Other than the water, then  followed by the flour I followed the recipe to the letter.  I wonder if I had not added the water at all, whether it would have had a better result.  Can you please advise Faffa?

Very simple to follow otherwise.  A great dish for a family dinner.
