Tip

This is a lovely simple stew, yummy dipped with bread and butter, or used as a pie filling.

If you prefer a richer stew you could add 2tbs tomato paste, 50g red wine or 1tbs thyme or mixed Italian herbs.

Just delicious! I put all the ingredients after the sauté. I didn’t put Worcestershire as my hubby doesn’t like it. I add carrot, capsicum, red wine, tomato paste, salt and pepper.
I used diced beef which I had to cook for another 15mins. I did 90 temp de whole time.
Thanks for the beautiful and easy recipe!Smile

Had my thermie for a week....tried this tonight. Used creamed corn, added 35g red wine and capsicum and chives in lieu of mushrooms. Did not need to thicken it... Think that was because of the consistency of the creamed corn.....Served it with rice and it tasted beautiful.... Will cook it again. Thanks for the great receipe.

Great base, but bland by itself.

I added a small sweet potato, 2 medium potatoes, celery and carrot.

Instead of using corn flour I used gravy powder.

    will make it again tmrc_emoticons.)

Nice flavour although I will make again and add tomato paste and less liquid I'd like it a bit thicker.

  • Really enjoyed the flavour -

Submitted by Wendy Whelan on 31. July 2013 - 18:07.

Really enjoyed the flavour - not a huge fan of Worcester sauce so halved and added some soy sauce. Also used rump steak so it cooked quicker. Thanks for posting.
