Buttered Rice

Ingredients

  • 400 grams Basmati or Jasmine rice
  • 900 grams water

  • 1 large knob of butter - about 1 tbsp, to 3 cups of cooked rice
  • fresh herbs optional
  • 1 egg

Recipe's preparation

    A splendid change from potatoes
  1. Cook rice as per instructions in EDC on p.16.  After resting for 3-5 minutes, remove basket of rice, drain and set aside. 

  2. In the warm TMX bowl, throw the butter and herbs (if using) and chop on speed 6 for 4 seconds.  Toss in the rice and a raw egg and stir fast on reverse, speed 6 for 8 seconds.  Rice should be shiny and golden.


    Serve piled high in Thermoserver.
