Tip
Put your pasta into your Thermoserver for a few mins to absorb the liquid if any. You could also put baby spinach in the bottom of your Thermoserver to mix through your pasta.

I just made this recipe and YUM! 😋 I made heaps of alterations though after reading comments. I followed recipe correctly at the start,
I did Step 1 correctly.
I then proceeded with Step 2 - I added in everything except for the chicken, pasta and the water (I used a full bottle of cream instead) cooked all ingredients for same as above 100 deg "Counter-clockwise operation" "Gentle stir setting" for 10mins
After that I repeated that step again, and cooked for a further 10 mins as it was still watery..
Meanwile - I got a small saucepan and cooked the diced chicken on the stove.
Once cooked. I got a larger saucepan, added in cooked chicken and the sauce from thermomix. Cooked on heat 7 on the stove. And let it simmer for 15 mins as it was still quite runny. - stir occasionally
After simmering - the sauce was beautiful and thick Cooked the pasta separately- them added into the carbonara sauce once cooked, stired around with thongs and added in a little bit of pasta water to the sauce (about 1/2 cup)
Mainly because I over simmered my sauce by an extra 5-10mins so mine was extra thick and I need that extra pasta water to help.
And stirred around - was so amazing !!!!! Will make again exactly how I've done it! It was like a restaurants ! 😍😍

I cooked this tonight, I must say I was a little disapointed, I ended up cooking pasta seperately because in the past with a pasta dish it's always gone gluggy. I decided not to add the white wine, and I think this is where I made the mistake. Was EXTREMELY watery, and had no flavour....So sad....My fault, but even in saying that, either way it was really watery. Is that normal?

medmonds27: Sorry that happened to you maybe your chicken was cut up too big. I cooked the recipe again last night & will adjust it. I am changing the chicken to thighs so it can cook longer & not be dry

Cooked the chicken in small pieces for 5 mins as per the recipe, but was definitely not cooked through properly. Repeated the step again for another 5 mins and it still wasn't cooked. Repeated a third time for another 5 mins and the cream curdled and the chicken still looked a bit suspicious. Complete disaster for us and I didn't want to risk eating the end product as I'm pregnant.

I tried ever so hard not to cramble the egg but it still seems to have happened somewhat! Whats he trick?
Thanks for trying... I
Thanks for trying... I haven't actually tried doubling the mixture but I thought what I could do is cook the pasta in the thermoserver while a double batch of the sauce is cooking. If there is still a wine taste it hasn't been cooked out long enough.
I tried to double the recipe
I tried to double the recipe but I don't think it quite worked :/... it just tasted like white wine.

Delicious Cabonara! I added a little more of the liquids and put in more pasta.

So good! Hubby said he defintely wanted this recipe on the weekly dinner rotation. I didnt add the egg because of was scared of scrambling it and just used little water and cornflour to thicken it at the end. Have added to my favourites, thank you!!
Very yummy, was easily able
Very yummy, was easily able to smuggle hidden veges in too! I did have to cook a few minutes longer to get the chicken fully cooked.

Thanks heaps for this recipe!
Thanks heaps for this recipe! Quick, easy and the recipe was easy to follow. My husband loved it, my Mr 2 actually ate it and it impressed the visitor we had over. Added extra bacon and mushrooms, didn't add the egg (was spooked by the possibility of scrambling it). But will add it next time for sure!
First main meal I have made
First main meal I have made and it was delicious!! Thank you
Will def be making this again!!
Thanks for that I haven't
Thanks for that I haven't made it for a while I will try it again & tweak my recipe. I think I might try it with coconut milk instead of cream
That's a good question....
That's a good question.... That's how I read it as well.... So I put my chicken in the previous step, which gave it 15 min. It worked great. I also used milk instead of cream and added a tbs of flour to try and get the thickness you would get from cream, it seemed to work. i actually felt the pasta was a bit bland, but after I added some salt and pepper and topped w the Parmesan, it was better. I also used penne instead of fettuccine. If you leave it in the termoserver too long, mine did get a bit gluggy. Maybe if I used cream that wouldn't have happened?? I'm no chef so I don't know!
A easy delicious pasta recipe
A easy delicious pasta recipe we really liked it. thanks for sharing will made this again.

That's great to hear..... I find if you break your pasta in half it tends not to get tangled around the blade
Amazing!!! cooked with my TM5
Amazing!!! cooked with my TM5 last night as my partners fave meal is carbonara and this was perfect! Creamiest one I've ever cooked with so much flavour! I didn't use egg has had run out, used 500g chicken and 200g bacon no mushroom as again had run out, so used a tad more wine and water and more spice and more pasta and it worked perfectly even cooked still at the same time recipe says. only thing that happened was about a mouth full of pasta clumped around my blade and didn't cook propenly but that didn't matter as I just threw it out and all else was perfect
