emtea88: Oh, no! I just made it after many months. I think it helps to have gaps in the veg to allow stems through and not allow the paper to get in the way of the steam vents if that makes sense. I also wash the rice first. So try it again. I've had a few issues in the past tmrc_emoticons.)

Complete disaster 😫 even with extra cooking time the rice is mush meanwhile veg and eggs are uncooked. Trying to save it in the electric frypan which is what I was trying to avoid using in the first place 😢

    Great recipe! Family loves it.

I reduced it to half, and it was barely enough for two adults and a kid. Make the full recipe and enjoy leftovers later, if any. I kept original amounts of garlic and onion, so I'll be doubling those when I cooking the full recipe.

I cook the omelette in the microwave instead. Saves me using the paper, I dislike creating unnecessary garbage when cooking. Simply whisk the eggs in a bowl, and cook immediately in the bowl until it inflates. When it stops inflating, it's done. 1 egg takes 40-60sec depending on your microwave, more eggs take a little longer. (I don't worry about salmonella, if you find it's a bit "wet" just cook it another few seconds.)

I used to make this all the time and pulled it out last night. Have to say i think the receipe has changed, water quanity is missing and I found i had to do it for an additional 15mins on Varoma to get everything to be cooked, and the rice needed an additional 5 mins on varoma.

Next time i will add 1L of water, cook 15-20mins varoma on spd 4 with the egg in the top.

    Still delicous!

My son found chopsticks in my kitchen crap drawer and requested rice. Bit of a quick search and gave this a try. Kids and Dad loved it and requested leftovers for lunch. I didn’t quite understand the egg part so cooked in pan. Rice perfect, cooked for 18 mins, 1000g water and speed 4 as recommended.

Great recipe! I changed the rice cooking as suggested in earlier comments for my TM5 to 1000g water and speed 4 and the rice was perfect. I also had to substitute the veggies as my husband can’t eat peas and corn. I added grilled chicken to bulk it out and I grilled the bacon with it. Turned out delicious! Will be making again for sure.

Submitted by Lisa Jones on 16. August 2018 - 20:07.

Really quick & easy! I reduced rice to 200grams as it was only for 3 of us. Kept the other quantities the same as wanted lots of veges. I didn’t chop the carrot, celery or mushrooms in step 1 as I prefer them chunky so just cut them up myself & put in varoma tray.
i didn’t have any problems with undercooked rice but maybe that’s because I had reduced the quantity. I increased to 2 tablespoons of each of the sauces as 1 didn’t give it enough colour & flavour.

Made this as one of my freezer meals to prepare before our little one's arrival in March. Recipe made so much which was great. I'm not sure what it is but I found it a little tasteless and bland. Could have been pregnancy hormones or the fact I don't eat bacon... I enjoy this with something but probably wouldn't eat on its own. Also I had issues with the rice cooking.
