This Banoffee Pie Custard is delish...

I swapped 50g flour for 50g cornflour. I would reduce the sugar to 80g next time, I found it pretty sweet.

I replaced the 50g flour with 15g cornflour, 50/50 brown sugar/stevia and placed them into four ramekins. A few slices of banana on top, tiny sprinkling of brown sugar and a tiny drizzle of sugar-free maple syrup. Yummo.

  • This was delicious! I used

    Submitted by ESP on 25. August 2015 - 23:04.

This was delicious! I used less sugar, and 15g of cornflower instead of flour. I also added a touch of vanilla essence. It was the perfect consistency! Yum!

Oh my! This is now my new favourite custard flavour. Brilliant recipe - I used 30g cornflour and it turned out EXACTLY how we like our custard.

  • This is so yummy!  I whizzed

    Submitted by saj255 on 5. August 2014 - 20:40.

This is so yummy!  I whizzed it for a few seconds to break up the banana which also made it a bit thicker.  I did use plain flour, not sure if cornflour would work the same either.

  • Made this last night, and it

    Submitted by Hitchy on 6. June 2014 - 13:34.

Made this last night, and it was delicious! After the second step, I added a smidgen more brown sugar to taste and repeated the 90 degrees, 1 minute, reverse 2. Can't wait to taste it cold tonight! I'm curious as to whether substituting the flour for cornflour would make it thicker. Thanks for the recipe!

  • I made this last night and it

    Submitted by jmatacz on 23. May 2014 - 13:50.

I made this last night and it is nice but I found it too sweet. I also only added 15gm cornflour as I prefer my custard to be more like a puouring custard as opposed to thicker. Thank you. I'm hoping it will re-warm well today and my son can have some after dinner.

  • That was a great alternative

    Submitted by aphrodite on 11. February 2014 - 12:41.

That was a great alternative to the 'ordinary' custard cream!

A pinch of vanilla (powder, paste or real) adds an extra delicacy! Try it!   tmrc_emoticons.;)

  • My family and I loved this

    Submitted by Natly on 26. April 2013 - 20:07.

My family and I loved this recipe. I didn't slice my banana I just broke it into pieces as I put into the bowl then chopped it for a few seconds on speed four leaving the banana chunky. Delicious, even my husband who dosen't like banana enjoyed it.
