Nice slice. I made it GF and cut down the sugar. I did a double batch and only put one lot of sugar in. Still plenty sweet enough. cut down the sugar in icing too.

This is a great recipe! Is a basic for our lunchboxes. I don't add the coconut to the icing, but except for that i follow it to the T and it's always a success. Thanks!

The best chocolate slice I have tasted!!!
BEST CHOC SLICE EVER ...
BEST CHOC SLICE EVER!
I reduce the cooking time to 14 mins so the slice is soft & chewy. Also triple the water in the choc topping until desired consistency & sprinkle with icing sugar or sprinkles instead of coconut.
My kids absolute favourite!!!! 😊
Yummy but i think if I took
Yummy but i think if I took it out of oven a few mins sooner would have been perfect as some parts were a little dry

Made this for Failsafe / RPAH
Made this for Failsafe / RPAH elimination diet exchanging Special K and Weetbix crumbs for the coconut and carob for the cocoa - yummy enough as it was that I didn't bother making the icing. Thanks for the recipe.

A big favourite with my
A big favourite with my family. I used spelt flour and a small square cake tin. It doesn't make the standard size slice but you only need small pieces. Rich and sweet.
This was beautiful!! Love the
This was beautiful!! Love the flavour & texture. Reduced the sugar in the slice to 140 grams & still could've reduced a little more as was plenty sweet enough. Will need to make double the mixture next time to fit my slice tin lol! Thank you for sharing. Hubby & my 3 year old loved it!

WINNER!! My husband is VERY picky about his chocolate slice. I have tried a few different thermo recipes for it and none of them made the cut! Well, this recipe did. He really enjoyed it so thank you!

The best choc slice ever!!!!
The best choc slice ever!!!! It works both with gluten free and normal flours and with coconut or rapadura sugar.......everyone I give it to devours it lol
I made this over the weekend
I made this over the weekend and my slice was neither fudgy or chewy - more like cake. I doubled the recipe, except for the amount of sugar, and cooked in a 30 x 20 cm tin for 25mins as others have suggested.
Where did I go wrong?
My husband said 'mmmmm' on
My husband said 'mmmmm' on the 1st bite so I'll be making this again! I made a couple of changes I used 65g of egg whites instead of a whole egg, I halved the sugar in the base (& used 90g of white sugar & 10g of molasses instead of brown sugar) & I substituted oatmeal for the coconut. I made the icing as per the recipe. The slice looks & tastes great! Thanks.
I'll be adding this to my
I'll be adding this to my repertoire of lunchbox recipes. I've made this 3 times, never with icing as I haven't got around to it! I don't think it necessarily needs icing, just a dust of icing sugar. It's just a little bit gooey in the middle like a brownie. I've also added half coconut half chopped walnuts. Next time I might try pushing some choc chips into the top too. I use the smallest of my slice tins or my small square cake tin. A brilliant recipe! Has anyone tried doubling it in the TM31?

Yay, so super easy! Was looking for something simple and fast to make for guests who were unexpectadly dropping in (had 30mins notice). The oven took longer to reach the temperature, than it did for me to combine everything! Tasted delicious! Thanks for sharing.

Woohooo! A slice easily
Woohooo! A slice easily converted to gf! Due to the small amount of flours, there is no way to tell that I made it gf. And it is super delicious - one I remember my mum making often when I was younger. I made it in one of my smaller slice tins and I'm glad I did so. Thanks heaps for posting this slice!
