  • Absolutely Amazing Recipe!...

    Absolutely Amazing Recipe!

My MIL was making silverside and asked if I would make the 'white sauce'. I was dreading this meal as 'Corned Beef & White Sauce is not my idea of a delicious meal. Luckily I had my Thermie with me!

I Googled 'best ever Thermomix bechamel sauce' and this recipe came up - thank goodness. I loved everyone's suggestion of the added Parmesan and followed their lead....so glad I did - it was delicious.

The piece of silverside was sensational and this sauce just added to the meal's success.

Thank you for a great, easy recipe!

This sauce is so quick and easy. I have cooked a few times and added 50g parmesan and cooked a further 2 mins as others have suggested. It's always been perfect and such a great sauce base for many flavours. About to attempt a half batch for our Christmas morning Croque Madame. Thank you!

Added 50g cheese like others. After the 7minutes I added left over shredded bbq chicken, some spinach & cooked on reverse for and extra 90seconds. Served over pasta 😋😋

So good! Incredibly easy, quick & tasty.
Love that it makes a large quantity because I used it as a base sauce for a big pot of curried prawns - which is always better the next day so I always have to make extra for leftovers! Just added 1 tablespoon of curry powder & a good amount of fresh cracked black pepper once the sauce was finished & it was perfect.
Won't be going back to the stovetop ever again, thanks for this recipe.

This is a fabulous sauce. Don’t understand why I have never made this before? Layered this on my lasagna and it worked a treat. As others had said, I added about 50grams of grated Parmesan and cooked for 2 minutes longer for a sauce just a bit thicker.

    Ciao, Chopsuey!

Fantastic! Thank you! I usually buy my bechamel sauce for lasagne as I have never quite mastered the saucepan method. Last night as I was making lasagne,  realised I'd forgot to buy bechamel. Thought to myself ' there's probably a thermie recipe for that' and found this. Turned out perfectly.  Added two more minutes to cooking time as suggested by others and perfect consistency!

    Submitted by Taggie on 6. May 2015 - 21:35.

So good! I've only made mine own a couple of times before having my tmx and it's always been a disaster. This was perfect. I added a handful of grated cheese and we had it with lasagne. Our lasange wasn't huge and this sauce made heaps - I would half the recipe next time for us. Super simple - no more jar/packet sauce mix for us tmrc_emoticons.)

Wow, that was easy! Looks like the girls will be getting their beloved tuna mornay a bit more often now. I used a bit less milk (all I had) and cooked for a couple more minutes as I like a thick masking sauce.
